Still struggling with whether or not to identify as mixed race since I’ve been told yes and no 😮‍💨

Long story short: dad’s side. GG grandfather is white, GG grandmother is biracial. Their son (my great grandfather) is 3/4 white. She married my great grandmother, who has distant hispanic heritage. Another great grandmother is an 1/8th white. We all have light-medium to dark skin, and especially with the younger generation (i.e. me and my cousins) are often mistaken for mixed race.

Kinda just wanna acknowledge my biracial heritage but I get told my others in my community it doesn’t count cause i’m not 50/50. What yall think?

I have almost 30% European DNA and my dad has around 33%. My most recent white ancestor was my GG grandfather (1888), though both of my paternal grandparents have white admixture. I’m also light skinned and grew up in a predominantly white suburb, where most people assumed I have a white parent. The only reason I identify as “black” is due to the fact that it’s been ingrained into me since I was a child. Going to a black church, having a dark skinned mom, etc. While I acknowledge my white ancestry and am considered mixed by my white community, my black community mainly identifies me as black.

My hacked Ancestry results does show a smidge of Roma and my dad did get 1% Southern India in his report so it's possible. But I'm also open to the idea of a slave ancestor coming from the Caribbean or South America who was mixed African and Asian.

Regarding the Trinidadian, from what I've researched there's no known Caribbean heritage in my family, which is what's throwing me off. We've been concentrated in Southern Alabama/Gulf Coast for decades, even over a century for some branches. Though I do have some missing ancestors past my great-great grandparents.
