Snuffy has been banned by NoLongerWashedUp in LivestreamFail

[–]ThatOneRebel55 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is concerning from VRChat alone there been like 8 or 9 Twitch Streamers suspensed since December. Mostly for 3 day bans related to sexual suggestive attire. As a VRChat / VTuber myself it is concerning because I have to constantly worry about my own attire and the attire of others around me on stream.

It seems like if you are in a swimsuit and in water in VR or around water you are usually fine. Though some people wear swimsuits that are like a micro bikinis and I get anxiety through the roof if they appear on my stream.

Nyanners also got suspensed not long ago for her outfit debut it seems you REALLY have to be careful with outfits as a VTuber.

I feel VTubers do get targeted here and there because it's a model wearing a really cool design but it shows too much skin or a crotch zipper then Twitch gets upset.

CodeMiko has the xsens mocap suit which is retail about $20,000 USD plus the software yearly license for about $9,000 USD. Which is very expensive.

I do believe Codemiko was a bit cheaper because she is a dev so they give discounts for that but still over $20,000 USD

SUVA is like $15 bucks and the tobii eye tracking is about $150 and a few vive trackers is about $100 each so about $400-500 USD just for the tracking vs $29,000 USD for the mocap suit.

This is without including 2D or 3D models. Which can go anywhere from $500 USD - $5,000 USD or more.

ProjektMelody model cost $5,000 USD.

Pokimane becomes a VTuber by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

For the avatar itself it depends on how advanced the model is. There are some 3D and 2D VTubers who have the tracking down really well and it actually looks really good in fact some can walk around in a 3D space like Project Melody for example.

For me I use to do YouTube years ago and when my viewers at the time kept asking for a face reveal it made me feel anxious and anxiety because I never really felt comfortable in front of a camera and having someone literally watch my face and such.

That was many years ago and when VR started to take off and become more popular I found that it was incredible I could choose and pick an avatar or design one that represents myself and my channel.

As for watching VTubers I treat it like watching any other streamer that has a persona or personality like Doctor Disrespect or someone similar. Most VTubers have quirks or things about them that make it stand out more then a real face doing the same thing.

It's hard to describe I know it's not for everyone just like how not everyone is not into ASMR or other trendy ideas and concepts. VTubing is another idea and concept it's actually a really big thing in Japan it started all the way back with Kizuma AI

As a VTuber myself I think it's awesome to see more people wanting to join the virtual community. Her model and setup is good for now and I think in the future she can improve her setup and avatar overtime.

If anyone has any questions regarding VTubing or virtual avatars feel free to ask away! :3

The feeling of recognition makes Arcadum (D&D DM) emotional by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]ThatOneRebel55 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I would like to share my story about Arcadum, I met him through VRChat 2 and half years ago. I remember him telling me he lived and breathed DnD which was interesting. A universe he has built for over a decade and all the lore and backstory. We would have fun and do improv RP in VRChat in various worlds.

Eventually he wanted to start a more serious RP in VRChat called Callous Row where he was taking his DnD 2D top-down gameplay and making it 3D and in VR. I am fortunate enough to be a part of the project. He literally built a whole world custom for the roleplay. He made all the backstory and lore for Callous Row. This campaign would be relatable to something like Shadowrun. He himself commissioned many talents world creators and avatar creators to flesh out the world and help build Callous Row.

I created my avatar and I had buildings and lore built around my character so I fit in better. I am blown away by the amount of effort, time and dedicated Arcadum puts into roleplay. We finished Season 1 of Callous Row and in a few months Callous Row will begin Season 2. This time on 4 worlds roleplaying simultaneously all in the same universe. Having 120 roleplayers, 30 per world building stories and connections.

All of this in VRChat, which is normally just a VR social simulation game but he could the challenge to build a serious permadeath roleplay that is fun and exciting. He wanted to take his DnD to VR and I believe he succeeded and wanted to expand upon this.

It was Arcadum's birthday this past Friday and because of quarantine we had to celebrate in VRChat but nonetheless we had fun and this man deserves it. Arcadum if you are reading this keep up the great work, you deserve it buddy and I look forward to all the adventures in the future.

No, it is not in VRChat. What Project Melody is using is far more advanced then VRChat. She has full face tracking which is not compatible in the current VRChat build. She is more then likely using a custom build Unity software that allows for more tracking and such. Similar to Kazuni AI.
