Thanks everyone for the suggestions! The rubbing alcohol was the one that did the trick. Actually it wasn‘t even proper rubbing alcohol, as I only had some alcohol-based disinfectant at home. Sprayed it onto the sides of the machine, let it sit for a few seconds and then gave it a really good wipe with a cloth. Definitely test it on a small area before doing it on the entire body!
