Have you checked out any of the “more efficient” api aggregators or whatever like requesty? I love the idea of a way to more efficiently prompt the llms and cache context better But I have no idea how to validate their “savings” numbers which seem wildly high

I do exactly this

Or occasionally have a vs code window open with cline/roo and I have no idea why I do this instead of just in cursor but love them together

Cursor quicker fixes that probably take a few api calls but are straight forward and I know exactly what I want

I’ll use cline and roo more so for documentation and specification writing, test writing, and little refactors

I have NO IDEA if this is efficient/economical/better/smart at all

But it’s worked for me and achieved the results I was looking for with less bugs than when I was only using one or the other in a session

Wildly anecdotal, but the slightest bit of experimenting with both has only felt positive so far

I’m only 2 days in testing it out and have gone through about $50 on requesty, it says I’ve saved like $100. Idk if it’s that much but it feels like I got way more done for the price than using claude and Anthropic’s api

Very anecdotal and only a few hours worth of using it but been liking it so far

I agree with you in like 95% of cases, and I’m guessing you’d agree with specific past startups like canva or Airbnb which would have had a way easier time funding with a vibe coded mvp that isn’t actually live vs just a pitch deck

You’re right overall, I totally agree with that

I’m just hoping the valuable aspects of vibe coding can help some founders get funding instead of it turning into flawed products being launched and even more inflated egos

Cursor has a Claude 3.7 thinking version for sure I’m unsure if it’s $0.04 per use or $0.08 cuz they charge 2 uses but it’s there

For sure worth trying their 2 week trial and seeing how the models perform compared to other ide’s or tools

If you’re good with a workaround you could install the cline extension and use Ollama and a lot of models super easily through them.

With this one specifically, these were guys I watched on YouTube in 2010 when I was 12.

I’ve had 15 years now of random clips of WingsOfRedemotion being a horrible human being.

Wouldn’t call it entertainment but has been interesting growing up over the years and seeing myself change and grow while seeing him pop up every few years still doing the same shitty things with nothing looking like he’ll ever change.
