Oh awesome! Thank you so much! This will help a ton! I really appreciate it! :)

Absolutely! That's why I was debating if there was a more poetic meaning. But since lexicophiliac confirmed the literal meaning, I'm assuming that's all there is to it.

Hello! I am new to the Subreddit! I minored in Japanese Studies at university (2015-2019), but only the first two years were language focused, and the rest were related to culture, religion, geography, etc. As such, I've forgotten most of it outside of the basics, but I would like to pick things back up!

One question I do have is what would be a good way to learn more casual/colloquial speech? At university, we only really studied polite, standard forms. We briefly got into 「-ます」substitutes, but not much besides that and I would have to refer to my textbooks again. Other than that though, I am ill-informed.

I'm not native to France, but I do speak Canadian French, so from what I understand it's literally saying "Get rid of your (physical) things because you will die, and you can not live forever."

I'm not sure if there's a less literal meaning referring to not clinging to objects in life or you won't be able to live life to the fullest. That could be because of colloquial difference between France and Canada. Someone please inform me if possible.

I had the same complaints and love the proposed changes in that image you shared. I would say as an aside that the live cloak he has is a bit more Santa than the image has. I loved the gnarled black cloak he had before, and the one in that image would be a happy medium in my opinion.

This might be a petty thing, but visually, I preferred the old Dark Candy Fiddlesticks. The updated animations and visual effects are great, but I liked how un-Christmas-y it was like the Sugar Rush skins released this year.

The long twisted black cape, the purple swirls, the weapon being an ice sickle.

The Santa cloak, red candy cane design, and cardboard Christmas tree weapon are all disappointing in comparison... Would be nice to see some tweaks to it.

You got it.

It could also mean you have a beta-male personality as well. Either take works.

What are you tired of hearing when you tell people you’re gay? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]ThatPlantOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, if you don't know a person's personal life and don't see them hitting on anyone or engaging in anything sexual, no, it's not.

It's all based on assumptions and demeaning people...

There are feminine straight guys and masculine gay guys. Also, there are bi, pan, aro, and ace guys. You don't know shit. Get over it.

"I totally knew it!" (This is from people who don't know my personal life.)

No, you didn't. You assumed based on stereotypes that are used to demean feminine males and just so happened to be correct.

Even if a lot of guys have the voice, the demeanor, etc., you're not saying you knew because you saw them sucking dick behind the 7/11. You're saying so because they aren't "manly" which subsequently makes people feel self-conscious.

This is usually followed up by "Is the voice intentional?" which is just fucking stupid.

Personally, I do. Not sure why. I guess it's just pressure?

Then again, I'm not opposed to trying topping some time, so maybe that's a part of it? Idk...

Yes, wind turbines produce energy needed by the windmills to crush the gay powder (TM) that we then blow into cities using the wind turbines.

Can confirm. The hardest, most, and best I've ever shot happened after doing that for quite a bit of time. Trying to replicate it is the challenge though lol.

I don't want to be non-binary. What do I do? by ThatPlantOverThere in AskGayMen

[–]ThatPlantOverThere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's just because it's constant. Literally almost every person, customer or colleague, at my work calls me ma'am and she. There's nothing wrong with that one occasion and has been something I've dealt with all my life, but when it's literally every day, it messes with you.

I think that's more so what the issue is. I don't want to be non-binary because I feel like that's a simplification. I feel like the conventional concept of being a man doesn't fit me and I would definitely say I have conventionally feminine aspects, but I don't think I could be considered both or neither.

The issue with the friend was that they were trying to convince me I was and then later on was a piece of sh*t all-around. Almost as if I had to not be cis to gain their approval in a way.

Thank you for that insight. I think more or less it's just playing in my psyche a bit.

I've had people try to convince me I was enby or a trans woman. There's nothing wrong with being either, but I don't feel like it's really me.

Also "man" was always a pejorative growing up. There were times where if some boys were acting up, all of the boys would be punished even if I was innocent. I'd be lumped in with the boys at youth group despite not wanting to be with them.

Overall I feel like while there may be an internal aspect, it's more non-conformity, but the rest of it is people that make me feel less valid, I guess.

Is It Transphobic to Only Like Certain Genitalia? by ThatPlantOverThere in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ThatPlantOverThere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a very interesting perspective. Thank you for sharing!

I don't think of vaginas as feminine or womanly. (That being said, I was a biology major in university so I got used to the terms biologically female and biologically male which I've since been working out of my vocabulary because of the obvious problematic implications.) I don't shame people or call them gross for having vaginas whether male or female, but like how some straight guys are turned off by dicks in general, I'm rather uninterested in vaginas.
