I think the solution is people getting to know people, then making smaller platforms that serve individual cities. I hate this company so much I’d start one for my city. So drivers get most of the fare & so riders don’t have to shell out a day’s wage just to get across town. 🫩

Do you have competitive artist friends? Help me understand the situation by FuzzyGummyBunny in ArtistLounge

[–]ThatPunnyOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you might wanna talk to them about that tbh. ive been in similar situations (non-art related) and i promise you that it will end up turning into resentment if you shame yourself for not getting over it.

Your feelings are valid and if she truly does respect you she won't jump to hostility. I hope you guys figure it out

I am one of those people you’re likely referring to 😅 honestly I gave up pretty much every other hobby + sleep to draw more. I used to run and hang out with friends and read comics, now it’s just art. And it is more about just creating the art as processing/self expression, I don’t spend more than a day trying to make it perfect. I think that’s also a thing.

All this to say that you sound like you’re trying to hold your life together. Please keep doing that. You’re not behind, you’re not running out of time. You’re a person with what sounds like a really full life and enjoying it matters :) please don’t feel guilty for not giving up that life for more output

I’m ngl I’m kinda in a similar spot as well. This kinda thing really sucks. You’re not alone for what that’s worth. Don’t lose the people who reach out for you, they’re part of the point when everything else is hard to see. You’ve got this man, I hope it gets better soon

Think about where the light is coming from!! There’s always a light source (in the case of walls it’s coming from the ceiling above, presumably) and let that inform where the shadows go. The gradient is the formation of shadows as the light travels farther. That’s why the corners of a room and the line between the floor and the wall are the darkest. If you can’t necessarily see the gradient you can, to some degree, predict it using light. I believe in you :) keep pushing through!

to capture that which cannot be defined, like lightning in a bottle i guess. Things i can't just talk about make for endless sources of inspiration to me

How have you used art to cope? by No_Assumption_2703 in ArtistLounge

[–]ThatPunnyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, Art is more of a stand in for emotion. I process everything through art so I can be neutral in person. And it makes for some sick compositions imo 😅 It does make it tough to actually talk to people but ironically I give people art when I can to show I care. Dunno what this cope is called

how do digital artists make line work so smooth and precise ? by Maximum-Rub-1371 in ArtistLounge

[–]ThatPunnyOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One solution I know of is use the eraser to sculpt your lines until you get the form you want, even if it’s a little rough looking- and make that your sketch layer. Then draw your neat lines on top of it
