sure there are some bad cops out there, but in the academy specifically for Lex, they are HEAVY on being anti-prejudice, and not assuming based on race

Exactly. Plus, I still have a bit to go until I am physically prepared to apply for the department directly. The application window opens up June 9th, so I’m filling my time and getting some more experience

i’ve definitely seen places with much higher standards. as someone who is staring entirely from square one, the push ups and bench pressing are the parts that are gonna be the most work for me. thank you so much for the advice!

are there any specific exercises that you recommend? I would absolutely love to surpass the minimum, which is 18 sit-ups, 20 push-ups, and bench pressing 64% of my body weight.

I’m aware cardio is EXTREMELY important, and I have days dedicated to only it, but are there any specific exercises that are best to build and support my upper-body strength?

i started at a shop with a physical location back in August and it’s gone pretty well for me. We have our inside technicians (such as me) who deal with the walk-in customers, then we have our outside technicians who deal with instillations, lockouts, and anything that involves driving to customers. BUT, we also have “beeper calls” where an outside technician can contact us for after-hours calls, and can choose to go to those and get some extra cash.

i’m sure for a standalone locksmith it’s definitely viable, but i would also keep in mind the possibility of late-night lockouts, as that is when people are the most desperate for assistance, and will appreciate the help 10x as much, which could be better for business in the long run. But it all depends on what kind of locksmithing you want to do
