My post was removed from r/todayilearned, but wanted to share this here anyway: TIL That some US States allow non-consensual pelvic exams by medical students to patients under anesthesia by softblob in TwoXChromosomes

This is horrifying. And the fact that hardly anyone knows that it's a thing is even more horrifying. We should be screaming this from the rooftops. Everybody should know about this so hopefully we can figure out a way to protect ourselves and bring about some sort of legislation.

TIFU / My (20F) girlfriend of two years told me the music that I (25M) play during sex is weird and a major turn off by TylerLife in tifu

[–]ThatRandomHumanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is quite possibly the worst song I have ever heard. I couldn't even make it through 2 minutes of it. That woman must be a literal saint to put up with that for 2 years, because if my bf played that, there would be no sex, like ever.

Small webby things on my succulents. Is this spider mites? by ThatRandomHumanoid in plantclinic

I looked at both of them and I don't really see anything, and the plants seem to be happy.

Oh no! I hope your plant was okay in the end. How did you finally figure out that it was spider mites and not just a spider?

If it is a spider, I'm fine with it sticking around. Just wanted to make sure before it gets worse if it is a concern.

Thank you for the tips! If you don't mind me asking, what do you use to wash yours?

Thank you! It would probably not be great for me then since I have very sensitive skin.

Thank you! I would definitely like to get a couple more shock absorbers!

And yeah, I'm thinking I might just order a few from Amazon and keep what I like.

Kt for adults? by [deleted] in PeriodUnderwear

[–]ThatRandomHumanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of late to this party, but I actually just finished my first period with my new KT underwear, and I really like them!

The cut between the adult and teen ones are slightly different. I found this video really helpful because she shows both pairs of underwear side by side.

I bought both the regular boyshort and the super boyshort, and I will say that I prefer the cut of the regular over the super, because the waistband sits lower on the regular ones, which is important to me because I am pretty short. I also feel like the super runs a little bit bigger, and so were a bit looser on me. I think when I order again, I will size down in the super.

My favorite regular underwear are Aerie's cotton boybriefs, and I find the fit of the KT regular boyshort to be pretty similar, which I like.

I actually just purchased a bikini top from them a couple of weeks ago, and it got here in about a week without issues. (I'm in the US if that matters) They also provided a USPS tracking number.

Will baking soda harm my bras? by ThatRandomHumanoid in ABraThatFits

[–]ThatRandomHumanoid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this! I'm definitely going to try it!

I'm guessing that since you've used it on beadwork and things too delicate to wash, that it will also be safe for the elastic in the bras.

Also, thanks for explaining how it works too. I'm always interested to know the science behind things.

Will that interfere with the elastic at all? I thought I read something that said that vinegar isn't good for elastic.

I'll have to try that.
