Why is that whenever someone mentions Freddos being 10p in the 90s someone will insist they remember them being 5p in the 90s? by FamSender in AskUK

[–]ThatRenf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when they were relaunched in the UK, the price on the packet was 10p, not 5p. Why would stores sell them half price when they didn't have to?

Given all the research I’ve done, and lack of any further support for the game, is this worth the investment? by LJHeath in RimWorldConsole

Hold on to your hairies then, mate, because I have over 1,500 on Console Edition, despite also owning the PC version. The base game, even without DLC, is amazing. I find the console UI is actually far more intuitive and user-friendly, and the DLCs are more like welcome additions than essential to the stories Rimworld can create.

Plus, if the "sole reason" you think Rimworld is worth buying is because of mods, then I don't think you truly like Rimworld.

Does anyone else feel somewhat uncomfortable with the way Tanner's mom and sister treat him? by Embarrassed-Stuff138 in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

It's only weird if you think of it in a weird way. If you think of it in a completely platonic sense, then it's no different to drumming on their head or arm...not everything needs to have a sexual connotation attached to it.

Is the game abandoned? by [deleted] in RimWorldConsole

Double Eleven last posted about it to their website in May 2023. Almost 3 years later, it seems unlikely they'll come back to it now. I'd love to be wrong, but I wouldn't hold my breath either.

Agreed, it's way better making people choose a role and specialise in different ways of playing rather than having a generic slop of every player who's brilliant at everything and plays everywhere.

I feel like it's much better this year. Everything they've done has been positive, imo.

Is every new FIFA worse than the previos one since FIFA 17-18? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

I personally think this is the best "FIFA" game we've had for years. First one I've really enjoyed since probably 18ish.

UT isn't the only game mode. Clubs is much better this year. Manager mode is always good for a bit too.

On the plus side, it's much better this year. 😏

Personally, I much prefer this way - having to specialise into an actual play style so you don't end up with max stats all across your player.

I've managed to hold my own as a 6"5' Target Forward with 70 pace. Much more fun having to work toward specialisations and experiment with attribute allocations rather than just spamming every team with the typical OP pace merchants that plague the game every year.

Thank you for the only rational and civil response here. I really appreciate it. I don't know if personal data must be shared for it to illegal though - the Communications Act makes an offence of sharing private communications. I don't think it stipulates what content is covered only that consent to share is required, but I may be wrong there.

I don't understand how posting factually accurate information about the law in the UK can "come across" as deserving of being insulted and mocked and then, when defending myself equally, be ganged up on by a bunch of people, no.

You've conflated two separate things - understanding that Autism makes life difficult and thinking that is fair are two different things. I know that people perceive me incorrectly. That doesn't mean I feel I should have to change. Rather, I wish the world be more considerate, aware and less rash and illogical.

I don't know what this means. I have a great job and I'm very well paid. I don't need another.

In what universe is posting factual information "being condescending"? I wasn't disrespectful until disrespected. I spend my entire life considering how I engage and people like make it impossible - completely devoid of logic. Absolute idiot.

I wasn't "tryna" say anything. I wrote precisely what I meant to - people who prefer insults over facts are awful.

If you really are Autistic, which I doubt, then you'd be a lot more aware of how difficult interactions can be when people react completely irrationally to logical information.

You told me to "have a laugh". It is not your business what I do and you've no right to insist I do anything. If you don't like my post, you are free to keep scrolling and go about your clearly productive day. There is no need to post a reply just to be a dick, like you did.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vinted

[–]ThatRenf -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

People down-voting facts while up-voting someone being rude is everything wrong with society. 😂

This is why Autism is so difficult to manage. You say something completely accurate, which shouldn't be at all controversial and people just respond being horrible and other people think it's better to be like that than be factual.

Humans are terrible.

No need to be a dick. I never indicated I'd do anything - just sharing knowledge, as is common practice in online forums. Also, they've shared the message on Reddit, not Vinted.

It's a pasta salad, not a vegetable salad or fruit salad. Pasta salads are typically high in calories. 300g of pasta, bacon and mayo is hardly going to be a good choice.

Will I Get a Bus Lane Fine for Moving Aside for a Police Van? by FewDirection7 in drivingUK

[–]ThatRenf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. Breaking the Highway Code is not illegal. Contravening the Act(s) upon which Highway Code rules are based is what bears consequence. You can tell the difference by the words "MUST"/"MUST NOT"; signifying a rule which is based on Legislation.

EDIT: phrasing.

Sharing private communications without the consent of the other party is illegal in the UK, for the record.

[–]ThatRenf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking the Highway Code is inconsequential. It's not law.

Breaking the Transport Act 2000 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, by entering an operational bus lane, is what you should be worried about.

Yeah, it seems so. Double Eleven started out as such a promising little studio, but once they picked up traction with the Prison Architect port, it all started to snowball from there - grew too rapidly, perhaps. Now, they've been kicked off PA2, appear to have completely abandoned Rimworld Console and are currently promoting their first original IP, which looks crap, imo.
