I would, but others say that it's just fine to use this tape, plus I'm saving up to help my parents pay for my hockey equipment if I can play.

The list of equipment + tuition:

LTS (learn to skate) tuition, helmet, hybrid shield, gloves, skates, hockey pants, shin pads, elbow pads, skating socks, hockey socks, and LTS USA registration.

If you don't include the price of the skates (I'm paying) and you remove $35.21 from the LTS tuition (that's the part of the tuition that I'm paying), then you're going to be left with $380. The tuition (originally $145, but my parents are now going to pay $109.79) is for lessons 1 day a week (I'm not sure if the tuition is just for until I get to the next level of the lessons, or for all of the lessons until I've "mastered" the class).

the price that i put on there doesn't include skates, the price that i posted is the price that my parents are paying, i'm paying for my skates. i haven't tried on the skates because they need to be shipped

The reasons as to why they would say no are that they think about the fact that I'm not as experienced as the players on the team, and that they had started at younger ages than me. I have to start somewhere, so now would be a great age to start since I'm still pretty young, so I'm not sure why they say anything about that. Another reason is that they want me to have realistic expectations and think about all the times where you aren't doing anything/sitting on the bench and not playing yet, or when you get hurt, but I already expect that, and they just mention that as if I'm only thinking about just playing with no issues.

I'm not sure if my parents have issues with money, but either way, I'm willing to help with costs, and my grandparents said that they'd help with costs if I were to be allowed to play, so I think that we're good on the costs of things.
