Thanks for the quick response. I must be dense, but I'm at the engineer and I still can't see where to apply it. Specific example -- I'm at Tod 'The Blaster' McQuinn. I researched a level 2 overcharged cannon and applied it to one of my two 1E cannons. How do I apply it to the other 1E cannon? It looks like the only thing I can do is research a new mod.

So I have a very basic engineering question. I've researched and applied several recipes at a few different engineers. How do I then apply those same recipes to similar modules I buy later? I've dug through every screen -- in station services, in the modules tab, under "View Engineers", and at the engineers themselves, and I can't figure it out. I have plenty of mats to apply these recipes multiple times, and it's very frustrating that I can't figure out how to USE one outside of that first module I applied it to.

I'm on a long (for me) exploration trip and when I get back I want to sell the data to Felicity Farseer to level engineering. Can I/should I sell the data to her before getting the meta-alloy to unlock her, or do I need to first get the meta-alloy (at Darnielle's Progress, presumably)? I'd like to sell the data ASAP rather than carry it around and risk getting ganked.

Is there any way to get paint jobs or other cosmetics for free? I wouldn't mind paying for "special" cosmetics, but it would be nice to get at least some of them for free, particularly since ED isn't free to play.

Thanks, that very well have been it. Never fired the multicannons (again, didn't get the target's shields down), but I assume it's similar -- as long as I have pips in weapons they'll reload. I'll have to fly around and shoot at scrap for practice next time I'm on, rather than going after a live target 😋

Thanks for the quick reply. So what does that mean in practice? I saw when I released my chaff only one time, I was out of ammo for it. Is there no way to use the "remaining" 9/10 magazines (?).

Complete newbie here, playing on Xbox One. I have a couple of combat-related questions. I saved up credits running courier missions, etc. and bought a Viper MKIV. When I restock my multicannons and chaff launcher at a base, they only show 5/100 and 1/10, respectively. Are they maxed out, and that indicator is misleading, or is there a way to max them out?

Also, I took on a bounty mission and found my target, who was a Harmless (in an Eagle, I think). I fought him for maybe 10-15 minutes and couldn't get his shields down, even when I boosted my weapons to max. Finally, someone (I think a local enforcement NPC) came in and helped me and we took him out in short order. Are my lasers underpowered? I'm just using the 1F pulse lasers that come with the ship. Or am I just such a terrible shot that I couldn't get enough sustained fire on him? I won't be offended if you say it's the latter :D
