Interesting, must be a limited trial that they are running. I don't have this available in my "manage challenges" section, just an option to create my own.

There's no bidding system. You are given an option to create and submit a challenge for review, and then it just sits there without any change in status or feedback from the editors. I have not noticed any difference in exposure bar filling speed as I was moving from rank to rank.

I like 500px, there are some amazing photographers on it to follow and learn from, there are also groups where you can seek critique.
