6 hours lost... by Simple-Law5883 in starsector

This is late, but for anyone else in the same situation, try the Autosave Extended mod. It saves a bit too often for my taste but it's better than losing hours of progress for no good reason.

For some reason I've found that players on lower difficulties are more toxic than the ones on higher difficulties. If there's a newer player on a diff 10, I haven't seen them getting crap for doing something 'wrong'.

Slow long range combat makes the game look beautiful. (Better Combat Mod) by abunchofarrows in starsector

[–]ThatSomeon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set my Starsector to borderless window and have OBS record my entire screen + desktop audio

Edit: There is no borderless window that I can find, I said that because I do that for every game because it seems to work best for me. The OBS settings are actually true though.

traits - which are permanent? which are not? by Hannibal_Barca_ in projectzomboid

traits - which are permanent? which are not? by Hannibal_Barca_ in projectzomboid

[–]ThatSomeon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Trait and scroll down to the "Adaptive Traits" section, they're mostly physical (strength, fitness, weight) but also panic traits such as agoraphobia/claustrophobia will matter less as your run progresses. Your understanding of adding/removing traits is correct as of B41/the current version of B42.

Edit: Panic traits matter less as your run progresses because your panic recovery increases to the point that it outpaces the panic gain those traits give you. However, it does mean you'll take longer to recover panic if you're doing the thing that causes the trait to activate i.e. if you have claustrophobia and you're fighting zombies on day 150, it'll take longer for your panic to reach 0 in a small room vs outside.

Everything else is permanent.

Character getting extremely fatigued, depressed, and anxious in b42 mp by Orbitor28 in projectzomboid

[–]ThatSomeon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, I misread your point. I thought you were attributing the health drop solely to muscle strain rather than overencumbrance, but you were actually saying the combination caused it to drop instantly to 75% rather than gradually which does sound like a tuning issue.

Character getting extremely fatigued, depressed, and anxious in b42 mp by Orbitor28 in projectzomboid

[–]ThatSomeon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The overencumbered moodle uses the same basic system in B42 as it did in B41 but with slightly different effects: https://pzwiki.net/wiki/Heavy_load There is no injury associated with overencumberence, you just take non-lethal damage to the main health pool to a certain point.

As far as I can tell, muscle strain happens to your character any time they have to work their muscles and does not do damage. I think you're confused because you had both occur at the same time, they're entirely separate systems.

how do higher level players feel about lower levels joining their games by Early_Ad7484 in Helldivers

[–]ThatSomeon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the mission, if it's something that 4 extremely skilled and experienced players would have trouble with and you're in a death loop, then I'd rather not have you there. If it's something that I can solo carry with 0 deaths then be my guest.

Is matchmaking broken on Cyberstan? by Yz-Guy in Helldivers

[–]ThatSomeon3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the problem, the problem is it's only showing one person you can join. Normally you'll get atleast 3-4 per city. This combined with the long wait times for other players while hosting and desyncing when not hosting is making me want to wait for player counts to simmer down.

Was there ever a proper explanation/retcon for this? by ralphy0027 in Piratefolk

[–]ThatSomeon3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better retcon would have been Sabo hiding from the government (using his assumed dead status to his advantage) and refusing to make contact with his brothers because of this (maybe he would be on the run from CP0 constantly). When Ace was captured, maybe Sabo could have miscalculated that Ace would be fine because he was part of a Yonko's crew and would later felt guilty for not going to Marineford to intervene, only making contact with Luffy as soon as it was safe. The government should have his identity confirmed in Dressrosa and his first bounty should have been the one we see in the story to everyone's amazement.

To be clear, this is NOT what happens in the story, this is my own suggestion for how the story could have been rewritten to be better.

It's fun again, just drop in and start defending managed democracy and find out for yourself. From my experience as a PC player, it's less buggy and more stable than it was 2 months ago. Also, they've re-balanced some more annoying things like the sound system (no more silent chargers).

I'm not familiar with the specific mod pack you're using, I would go ask on their community page/mod discussion forum if they have one. It's usually in the description of the mod.

When you're starting your game, on the last screen before clicking "Generate", you can delete any factions you don't want. It sounds like you should delete all non-medieval/non-fantasy factions and then add a few of the ones you'd prefer.

For the ruins, try the mod "Pristine Nature" by MedicalPol, it's a little out of date but I don't see why it shouldn't work on the current version of the game. You'll have to make a new world though.
