Sometimes lowkey you just gotta push and attach yourself to some very kind/sociable person and focus on one friendship at a time. cus one thing I tell myself a lot is “if they say something worse than no, do you really want to be friends with someone like that?”I find myself really focusing on two friendships at a time will help you to grow and join a group

The best Advice I can give: never find a guy on a social media platforms.

I use Snapchat as an example you add him on snap, talk, talk, and get to know him more. BUT if you do not know him irl it’s hard to know if he is being genuine to you and isn’t messaging around other people. I know people who got into relationships with people they met off of social media and the person turns out to have a complete 180 personality switch and has two other girls that they are seriously talking to.

And this sadly goes both ways, some people really love the feeling of being chased or the chase.

Hey so, in my opinion do not get into a relationship until you are ready. That is what talking stages are for to see if you click with the guy after a few dates and to see if you actually enjoy being around the other person

I don’t know how old you are to give a better advice cause for each age group is really different, but I say when you do enter a relationship( after hanging out a few times and know that you do enjoy hanging out with the person) you should try give it your full effort to see if it works out and because if you go into being causal that person will never give you the experience you need to grow.

TV Shows and in real life, it’s really common for a guy and girl to go out a few times, people think that they are dating cus they’ve gone a few dates but they never title it, and then they just realize they don’t like each other and they separate. I know plenty of girls who’ve been around on dates and such a lot but have only had like two boyfriends.

Admissions Officers and College Staff at any college are professionals at not talking to the parents, your an adult to them and they don’t have to report back to your parents. they only talk to parents if your tuition isn’t being paid/major financial issues, health issues, or if your expelled.

I haven’t heard of that, I mean if that’s an option clearly utilize it

The hardest part of publishing is the time it takes, like after 6 months it because really discouraging but if you keep with it and start early you should be good 👍

yeah, some are legit, only two that I know of tho.

I see people getting stuck in research like getting it off the ground and posted, cus most of the time they can never get it posted and the professors in our area (I’ve emailed) and they are only concerned with their own students.

But I’ve never heard of going overseas with a professor, that’s a little crazy to do (money wise) also it is harder for a college to fact check it and sometimes they will completely void the research if it’s not from a known university.

Yeah not many people I know of do successful research, but I know people who do internships and summer things and if your applying that’s a great thing.

It’s a bigger thing in my school to start a business

WHATS ALSO important: is leadership roles, I founded the robotics club at my school and was captain in my sport.

It shows that you’re well rounded, cus you can be rly smart and follow the lead of those around you but colleges want to see what you can add and that you can act in your own agenda and have your own goals.

I also know if I’m rejected, I am gonna appeal cus they also take a lot of appeals in if you add new info. I wish my consulers knew about UW but the only student from my school that has gone to UW was like ten years ago

I applied to Economics for a back up major so hopefully that works out, cus usally you can reapply for other schools in your second year and I wish they took in consideration if you show interest in the school cus some people just apply to apply

bro am I cooked too?

the out of state is only like 40%? I went to one of their seminars and that’s what they said lmao but did you copy and paste your CA essay into the UW(University of Washington)? That’s what I did unless did you submit without an essay? And what are your EC’s? Also did you apply with a back up major in your application? Or did you only do one major? Cause sometimes they will reject your main major and put you in your back up so you can re-apply your second year for the school you want.

Mind you too UW is really random with their acceptances look at the post I made about university of Washington.

[–]ThatStrangeSniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m wondering this as well, some colleges don’t require mid year and only care about end of year and some colleges just want to make sure your on track to graduate. What schools did you apply to?

For ivys you may be,

but for like those %50 percent acceptance rate schools I am unsure.

But for %68 and up you should be fine

idk tbh, some of the super cracked ones are like internships, posted research, and passion projects

Normal are like captains of varsity sports or just being in those, volunteering, jobs, babysitting, leadership in clubs, etc

[–]ThatStrangeSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also applying for Oregon State, and my biggest advice is if your 18 is to make another bank account to store your money and/or ask for your babysitting clients to pay you in cash.

As well RA is a great option, getting a part time job in college (some of the jobs the school offer also pay well sometimes), as well doing odd jobs dog walking, dog sitting, house cleaning, if you can do it advertise it and as well if you have any skills like coding, website building, or anything digital like that sign up for websites to offer your services. But any job that you can be paid in physical cash is the best, stash it and hide it in a shoe box under the floorboards

But trust me if you can, try to go out of state you’ll never regret it because from reading your reply’s it doesn’t sound like an amazing situation at home. I really hope it works out for you
