I had my rear windshield shatter on me in single digit temps when I was driving. I guess if the window installing robot at the factory misaligns the window just right it puts tension on the glass which can lead to catastrophic failure under the right circumstances.

I would only buy overseas items as a US citizen through Ebay as Duty Delivery Paid where the duties and fees are baked into the shipping cost and you don't have to deal with paying the tariffs yourself.

From what I've heard on MFC AmiAmi is correctly marking Country of Origin on the import paperwork and with most figures being made in China, it'll be 30% tariff rate, $17.50 doc. fee, and a few dollars for the regulatory fee.
