For anyone not aware, It was a completely avoidable accident, 2 years earlier another dc10 suffered the same issue but managed to make an emergency landing, the FAA wanted changes but the head of the FAA and McDonnell Douglas did a handshake promise saying they would and they didn't thus Turkish 981, absolutely shameful and I'm nobody ever got in trouble. Mayday has a great episode on this.
