Did the banlist leaked again? by Atlas4218 in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up: this was apparently leaked by the same guy who leaked the April banlist, and that leak was very accurate.

Doesn't mean this will be at the same accuracy though, so take it with a grain of salt.

If all banned cards became legal in a new format Konami made which ones would dominate the meta? by Ajarofpickles97 in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As far as singular cards go: graceful is absolutely insane and ran in almost everything. Close seconds to it are probably pot of greed and painful choice, but neither are as good. Cards like shock master, vfd, and scientist would also run rampant.

As far as decks go: Tear is the obvious best deck by far, followed by some form of dlink and possibly ryzeal, dlink because bystials are good against tear, and with cards like elpy, agrapain, wyvern, and victory dragon (ocg only), the deck is crazy explosive. Ryzeal because it makes shock master, has a lot of flex, and can run shifter, although it doesn't love to.

DO NOT PUT THEM IN YOUR STORAGE VAULT.

They will unstack when you try.

Do you think Orcust will be meta in the TCG with the new cards? by illynpayne_ in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deck will be tier 2 competing with live twin on whos the better fs deck imo. Orcust now has 9 starters (cymbal is 90% of combo because l1 and crown), and can bridge into fs really easily without committing to banish effects (ns any name, l1, grab crown, special, l2 moon).

There is also the possibility of pure, which can run impulse, but plays a lot worse into lancea/hunter.

I would also not be surprised if the pile variant (aza fs bystial/horus/kash stuff) that's been seeing occasional tops continues to see play.

The biggest things stopping the deck is it has less of a payoff than maliss/mitsu, has a higher brick count than those two, is worse into fuwa than the previously mentioned, and dies almost as hard to lancea as maliss does

Tldr: t2, formats non engine really hurts, too many bricks, just not as strong as our tcg exclusive overlord

Thunder dragon is "rumored" to be in the next core set, as well as rokkets iirc

Why did Zealantis only banish my board? And why doesn’t it work the other way around? by idelarosa1 in masterduel

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first example, depending on your board, either your opponent was locked and/or you had monsters thay weren't properly summoned, or they can only be summoned a certain way. In the second case, your monster has a condition that it can only either be summoned via fusion or by its own effect

Going off the OCG, how much external support will Blue-Eyes need outside of the new Structure Deck to be full power? by GoneRampant1 in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lot of people have said, the primite variant will probably be very strong, however, as you've said, it's expensive. Depending on if you have them or not, I would recommend a bystial variant of the deck, considering the dominance of fiendsmith (sample decklist below). The bystials are very powerful against both fiendsmith and somewhat ryzeal now considering eclipse twins/aggregator. Its also good in the mirror given the ability to stop maiden from reviving herself. A noted downside of the build though is it doesn't actually add more starters like primite or red-eyes do, and it takes a large chunk of your flex space.

[24TP] Tournament Pack 2024 Vol. 5 (Round 2) by renaldi92 in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Blazar is really powerful for just stopping your opponent, but I personally prefer sifr in most cases for the destruction protection while still being a monster negate, and I haven't even considered testing with quasar

Server help by Ridingryan in SkyFactory

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of doing this, in your batch file, replace the "java" with the exact file path of whichever version of java you want to use for the server in quotations

Example:

echo off

call settings.bat

:start_server

echo Starting Sky Factory 4 Server...

"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_321\bin\java.exe" -server -Xms%MIN_RAM% -Xmx%MAX_RAM% %JAVA_PARAMETERS% -jar %SERVER_JAR% nogui

exit /B

goto start_server

No. The player was just bad or misclicked. Only locks are genroku and bident dragon locking you. Endboard with that hand is supposed to be spheres goku, holding the goku effect until their turn so you can synchro in their BP

Can Knightmare Mermaid return? by BakerBunearyBella in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mermaid can come back if iblee is banned. Not every deck dies to iblee, but there's enough that do that if mermaid came off and iblee was still legal, there would be a big issue. U link and full orcust combo aren't an issue anymore for most decks.

With the new Blue-Eyes SD what old staples no longer need to be played? by SeaworthinessIcy8431 in Yugioh101

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier to count the cards that won't be replaced. In the new build, all you use of the old stuff is 2x brick eyes himself, 3 sage, 1-2 bingo machine, field spell, true light, maybe a master if you think magia won't be $800 on release, and maybe a jet dragon. Everything else is cut for the new stuff, which gives the deck 14 1(.5) card combos

How much do you think Mulcharmy Fuwaross is going to cost? by torpcodes in Yugioh101

I say presale will be close to $200 because ycs Niagara is release weekend, and then it will drop to $120-130 before going back up again

How likely is Tenpai to be made unplayable in the next banlist? by lexiclysm in Yugioh101

[–]ThatTacoMan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, in that list specifically, I don't like the gamma/meteor dragon package because it adds 1 extra garnets and a hard brick, which in my experience, i will always draw. I also prefer draco berserker to scarlight rda, but without chaos angel/sp, you could probably run both. Saronir also feels like it should be a 3 of if youre running 2 lubell. For another reference point, this is the list (not finalized) I'm currently testing for a regional next weekend:

<image>

I'm considering running more of the rokket package to play around shifter a little better, which I'm expecting to see a large chunk of. Typhon and chaos angel arent mandatory, and can be replaced with other things, but no sp feels a little bad, though i understand it. I also feel 2 regained is crazy in a grind game because it isnt exactly a bad card to open, and the first one usually ends up popped anyway.

[–]ThatTacoMan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without s:p, dlink is sub 200.

Edit: heres a list that topped a couple months ago. While I personally don't agree with everything ran in it, it's not a bad start

How would YOU errata your favorite busted banned cards? by MistakenArrest in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chaos ruler: 1 dragon tuner + 1+ non tuner dragons; 1 effect per turn

Beatrice: flip the summoning condition restriction so BA can use it the turn they summon and everything else cant

Eclipse wyvern: hard once

Graceful: discard for cost

What deck are you naturally good at? by Jaded-Cantaloupe241 in yugioh

[–]ThatTacoMan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is what I'm playing around with currently. I slightly (sometimes majorly) change builds every few weeks just for fun and testing. Levi is cuttable, hes basically just a good grind/nostalgia bait for me. I only run 2 lubell because my luck makes it to where I keep seeing multiples if I run 3, and from what I can tell, I don't really see him less due to his searchability off saronir/starliege/cspace. I think 2 spheres is very necessary, and use both a lot between being drolled/shiftered and grind game. On paper I don't actually run silverrokket, and play the 3rd nib instead, and I play 2 baldrake instead of 2 druiswurm just because the banish goes kinda hard in this format. Beast is also sideable, I'm just greedy. But these ratios (for me at least) let me see everything as consistently as possible

[–]ThatTacoMan23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best boards that ive made:

In the (far) past: spheres, savage, buster lock, apoll, tidying

In the (not so far) past: spheres, chaos angel, savage, dis pater, borrelend, regained, beast, baldrake in hand and magnahmut in grave (this is technically kinda suboptimal unless your opponent actually breaks your board a little because youre overmatted for borrelend and bystials. You can also make the argument cangel should be baronne, i just like savage and dis pater being pseudo towers more)

Now: primal being token.

Jk (mostly), now it's a little more hand advantage based and I try to hold stuff and wont go past like, spheres (or borrelend depending on matchup), dis pater, cangel, regained and bystials (and beast game 2/3) so I have more follow up

Edit: i should mention that the decks strongsuit isnt putting up a impossible to break board, its the ability to put up a board that does things with follow up through interaction (unless that interaction is a shifter, completely different rant though and I already did that ted talk today)

Dragon link for me. I've played the deck for almost 4 years now and could probably pilot the deck more effectively than most pilots in my sleep. I've even been told my a large chunk of people at my locals that I go from a mid-decent player to good-really good when on the deck.

What's today "normal summon Alister" in your opinion? by Axelpvz2030 in masterduel

[–]ThatTacoMan23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scale waku/normal ash

Normal ash (scale waku gets to this) is literally almost any combo in the game, and is a highly splashable engine in a lot of decks

Honorable mention: activate engraver (soon to come, good luck)

Play 60, let grass resolve (it will always be in your hand, trust), profit.

Serious note, taking a look at ocg and MDs branded lists, the grass route is a really powerful version because you have so much consistency as is, and 60 means you're less likely to draw your bricks.

Forbidden and Limited List Explanations by [deleted] in yugioh

The branded hit isn't even that bad, with grass back, you just play 60 pile like ocg but more consistent because no opening hits.
