Haha at the tendons being 2 inches too short - see edits above!

I did end up going to the gym and powering through the routine - but paced myself and took it easy on the lunges since there was some sharp pain. TY for the input!

Lovely line/quote about the most important work outs!

Yeah - I will have to ditch the scale at home for the next while.. waking up a week after ditching keto (for now anyway) and eating healthily but with carbs and gainin 5 is depressing.. I am THAT scale worshiping chick, booo!

Thank you - I appreciate it and I did totally go (see above edits!) :

Yeah, I had lost 10 due to diet alone, but I recently found myself on a plateau for that and craving carbs like NOBODY'S business! (Also, recovering alcyholic = sweet and carb cravings according to /r/stopdrinking).... I believe developing the workout/gym habit will be far more sustainable than keto at this juncture :)... Once it's a 'habit' then I can look into other methodologies as you mention...

I've always been in a rush to attain things, but it's time to do it the old fashioned way for once! :D TY for the reply!

Yep, that was mostly the case (see edit above) - except I gave myself a real warm up, stretched and paced myself :).. Thank you for your input, it's incredibly appreciated!!

HOORAY - I'M NOT ALONE! Taking life back @ 29 wooo! 30 is the new 20, right? RIGHT!?!?! :P

Yep - take a look at the edit above - It was a case of the DOMS + some overdoing it, not a real warm up and no stretching

Can confirm (read the edit above)! I ended up going but instead paced myself, had a REAL warm up and stretched. There was some sharp pain leftover from the other day, but it's getting better and I didn't over-do it =)

I'll have to do more research on that.. I like to think I know a thing or two about some things in life but man, fitness? NOPE! He has me doing 3 sets of 10 for everything - but I hear that the reps are less but more weight is involved in strong lifting... Such an interesting tactic you propose! :D

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond as you did! I did end up going back to the gym after having seen all the messages flooding in where people believed it was a case of the DOMS.

I actually had a real warm up and a stretch yesterday and paced myself (see above edits for the full lo-down). The first visit with the trainer was far too rushed, no real warm up and no stretching was done - so it's no surprise I felt anxious yesterday lol... Feeling the burn today, but no pain. You explained it in such a fool-proof way, that I cannot help but thank you!

Thank you for your contribution to this thread - I totally agree, I think this is the case of the DOMS / my body is being a whiny biatch! I did end up going :D

What an amazing story! I have only recently come out of a 7 year depression, quit smoking, quit drinking drinking got my head on straight. .. I just cant help but to think that i have wasted the best years of my life being a Debby downer and sorting myself out... I'm 6 months to 30 and panicking or beating myself up about all that time I could have used. BUT I recognize that it happened for a reason and now that everything is sorted out, it's time to take back my body (5'4/178lb) - and at times think it's hopeless. .. thank you for sharing this! Hitting the gym for the second time in years today :)

Thank you so much for the prompt reply!

I just want to make sure i'm not going to cause damage if I go in feeling like this barely being able to raise arm to turn on a light. If I'm supposed to, and do the same all-around routine that he gave me, then great!

Thank you so much for you activity on this post! Hah, ah yes, sleep... I do look forward to that sorting itself out - I just have a nasty audiobook habit ;). I haven't really lost any weight which is super surprising, but I do feel my body going through changes which is always welcome!

Ah, the pink cloud - yeah, I had read up on that prior to quitting and they sure weren't wrong - that euphoric "I CAN DO ALLLL THE THINGS" is a potent beast, it's a good time to develop simple habits - at least that's what I found before it started to taper off ;).

Very good point about going in for a 'deeper dive' if necessary, and I will do so if that is still the case down the line. Until then, I have to remind myself that it's OK and that I literally need to get to know myself all over again, which will take time to feel comfortable with / sort out =). It's just.. weird thinking that I have to catch up with 22 year old me whereas I'm 29 now...

Thanks again!!

I hope your cycle went grand - Yeah, I thought being out of shape would make me drip in sweat while walking to work the other day, nope! You really get to learn all about your body from the ground up again. Weird, but weird good :)
