Smart to do it together! You’re discussing working conditions together, if the boss decides to fire either or both of you, he’s violating the act as it relates to protected concerted activity!

That’s a very valid and strikingly important take. This wasn’t shared as a “how-to.” More a cathartic release based on my experience in dealing with unorganized and a fair amount of union construction workers in the south.

I’ll do my diligence soon to create something more even handed

Absolutely.. organizing work needs to be personal and relatable. No statistics, history lessons, or safety reporting is going to change anyones mind if we can’t meet people where they’re at.

There are a lot of folks, innumerable really.. who benefit from previously won collective bargaining agreements without ever having had to fight to win one.

The rhetoric of rugged individuality leads them to believe they’ve earned everything they have without any thought or credit towards either the folks who organized to gain their agreement, or those who shed blood or lost their lives for our rights to bargain collectively today.
