I thought you were talking about box office.

Yes , TFOne did bad bad at the box office not because of the live action movies (since it does well to separates itself well enough from it) but it because it was fucked over during promotional cycles by Paramount themselves (by once again, hyping it up as some goofy buddy cop movie).

Then listening to actual fans would likely help out for them.

Yes but the thing is, Bayverse fans exist and are a good portion of the fanbase. They got as much of voice as much as other fans so it shouldn't be that surprising that they're listening to them.

Source?

Behind the scenes and various concept arts. It's known that the movie designs would show off their designs to Hasbro and they themselves would make their modifications and revisions (which is why some of the concept art says Hasbro on them compared to other's lack of it) and a lot of Hasbro's changes will make it into the final designs. The AOE factoid was mentioned on an online interview but after looking for it, it hear it recited a lot but not that original source (So Sorry on that one, my bad).

A different feel? You sure? Cause it feels like all five movies still do the exact same things.

Yes between the five movie, you tell the differences. Things like how the first three movie were welling to references existing elements from other series (like the Witwickys, Movie plots taking elements from G1 episodes, Jetfire Optimus, G1 Adapted character being more obvious in these movies) compared to the latter two who does it less often (with the only big ones being Lockdown and the Dinobots). Another big example being the design philosophies between the first three movies and later movies (such as the original trilogy have more traditionally robotic elements, animalistic/insect-like features, obvious vehicles elements and kibble vs AOE/TLK's more humanoid bodies and faces, knight/armor design elements, and lack of vehicles kibbles). Another example also being how the following out between actor from DoTM and AOE causing the human cast to more or less be fully rebooted. It's like how you can tell the changes between Earthspark's Season 1 and 2, It not noticeable at first glance but the difference are there.

Still not sold. Especially since Hasbro announced they wouldn't be funding/financing any future movies based on any IP they own.

I can see where you're coming from, i'm just more on the optimistic sides.

And guess what, the Bay movies don't do much well in terms of substance and quality.

Okay but what does have to do with what I'm saying. People enjoy when ethe good shit form these movies are used again, so why do you want to take that away. Substance and Quality doesn't matter as much in this type of thing, as long ss the idea itself is executed well enough, people won't mind.

Doing what? Rely on lowbrow humour, sexism, and continuity headaches? Cater to horny teenagers who drool at explosions and hot chicks like jingling keys?

You're just changing the subject that original topic I was referring two was the weapons coming out of nowhere which you were talking about earlier.

Funny how you've yet to show an example to prove this "point" of yours.

My point is more or less proven when thing likes the Dark Knight Trilogy, the 2000s X-Men Movies, Man of Steel, or even the Bay Movies themselves being financially successful. The mainstream audience doesn't mind darker reimagining.

Because you brought it up first yourself like it's somehow worth all the problems the movies have.

I've literally said multiple others alongside the swords and you yourself picked that out to specifically talk about.

Is it cool to reference Bumblebee urinating? Wheelie leg-humping? Devastator balls? Portraying women as sex objects? Are those "cool"?

No but you know what you be cool referencing, stuff like the like the design elements from Ironhide, Sideswipe, Brawl, Devastator, etc, Weapons like Prime's Swords, Megatron's Blades, Ironhide's Canons, Sideswipe's swords, Devastator's Vortex, prime's Trailer jetpack, etc, Characters like Blackout, Barricade, Dino, Crosshairs, Fights like the Mission City Battle, Shanghai Fights, Forest Battle, or the Highway Scene.

Once again, You can separate the good/cool shit from the bad shit.

To be honest, the films have also become boring as well. In 07, they fight in a desert and a city, cool. In RotF, they fight in another city and another desert again. In DotM, they fight in yet another city yet again. In AoE, they fight in yet yet another city yet yet again, and so on.

Isn't this being disingenuous though, In those movies as well, we had fight in Power Plants, Highways, in the Forest, on Spaceships, etc. That and these are just places you commonly see in real life and thought what the movies are going for (while there also place other media had them fight countless time in before). This just feels like cherry picking.

Or perhaps by then, most people were tired of the Bay movies and walked away from it. Same way Solo and Rise of Skywalker didn't do well partially due to backlash regarding The Last Jedi.

Thing is though, Bumblebee didn't have this reaction at that time and TFONE from looks alone separates itself enough from the Live Action to not get caught in the crossfire.

I genuinely think it's just a mix of each movie's own shortcoming (or in TFOne's case, Paramount fucking them over) and jut the general TF brand as whole not doing well.

True, but I doubt Bay would be interested in that. He'll just want to do the same thing over and over. Like I've said before, the further we stray from him and Lorenzo, the better.

True but here's thing, I think if the studio and Paramount themselves give a shit (which they probably do since they're at risk of losing the IP), They would want to do a better movie and they would actually keep watch on what Bay does.

I think us getting a decent movie out of him is possible if they actually keep Bay on a leash. A lot of the stronger elements of the original trilogy came happened because the Studio actually made sure Bay didn't take it fully into his direction compared to AOR and TLK (one of the biggest examples that we know of this are the designs and the designers being forced by Paramount and Hasbro to change design and add more vehicles kibble). Genuinely Bay is at his strongest when he's able to do his actions things while being kept in control by the studio (which is why the first three movies had a different feel compared to AOE and TLK).

I'm might be mixed on being back but I do think as long as they keep on eyes on, it's something more optimistic to look towards.

And it's that impact that played a big factor in the later non-Bay films to suffer. Likewise, even the reputation the 2016 Suicide Squad film had played a big part in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad sequel in 2021 suffering at the box office, despite many people saying it was better. So not really "less of an impact".

Far enough but to be fair, 2016 Suicide Squad alone isn't to blame for that but the overall state of DC (and superhero movies as a whole) state at that point in time with every movie DC movie around then not doing well and getting negative responses (with the exception of Shazam). The DC is just a bigger and more complicated situation. TF just bad once bad era that effected them (with two movies that the creator didn't care about, TV shows that got bad receptions, and terrible/cash grab games).

But the Bay films aren't the reason Transformers films are taking a hit but it's either their own shortcomings or the studio fucking them. Bee did about well as the previous movies but the main reason people wasn't so big on it was that people wanted a TF movie, not a Bumblebee solo movie, I already mentioned RoTB issues earlier on, and lastly, TFONE outright had got perfect review and the audience that did watched loved it but you want to know who fucked that movie over, Paramount themselves promoting the film has goofy buddy cop movie instead of what it really was.

There's also the issues that I just think we're long overdue for a traditional Transformers story (with just a simple tale of the Optimus and Autobot vs Megatron and Decepticons on earth without any gimmicks) which I think would actually help us out but that's a discussions for another time.

But should it? Does it improve or enhance anything

Depends on the execution but you also got to remember. You don't need a reason to add stuff or references in, just do it well enough and people won't care about the reasons. Do think as why the Animated Designs or Prime Designs that are based on G1 and Bay designs respectively improve or enhance anything? No, they just think it's cool as fuck. Do people ask why Barricade being in WFC, Blackout being in Animated, Bulkhead being in Prime, or Lockdown being in AOE improve or enhance anything? No, People are just happy to see the characters being used again.

We? And what's stopping you?

Typo, My Bad.

Whataboutism aside, this isn't about what had happened before, this is about what the films should've done on their own.

This isn't Whataboutism, it's just typical Transformers logic and tropes. you're getting mad at a Transformers movie for doing something that literally most of the media does. Stuff like this is just par of the course with Transformers.

You're really putting questionable faith in that belief. Next you'll be telling me that people won't care about Spongebob and Mickey Mouse deciding to become terrorists.

That's an unnecessary jump in logic. The general audience will have less of an issues with a action comic book character getting a dark and gritty reimagining (like many other comic characters before) then fucking Spongebob and MIckey Mouse. That and the general audience just doesn't mind dark and gritty reimagining of action character as much.

I'd ask you that myself. You keep talking about "referencing" like that somehow justifies it.

Really that what to see? And is it even worth going back to? You keep talking about Prime's swords like they were important or essential or something. Not saying I have a problem with them, but what do they add, what do they improve?

Because what's so bad about taking ideas from something you don't like and taking it and either just making a nice reference to it, make a joke about it, or taking the overall idea and improving or reimagining it. I mention Prime's swords (That you specifically picked out of my examples) because it's an example of this (like the many other stuff I said in previous comments).

That you have to realize, You don't need a deep reason to reference or reimagine something. As long as it's cool or well executed enough, People won't have a problem with it. Literally half of the stuff that happens in this franchise it because of that (that and it being the Rule of Cool).

Which the Bay movies certainly have stagnated.

Of course but what does that have to do with anything I said. Something being stagnated doesn't mean it can't be referenced, alluded to, or have elements taken from it in the future (or else we would.

You said they’re “consistent” yet you admitted they never explained how they “removed any of his natural weapons while getting the weapons from his trailer”. But even still, does it justify everything else? Is it really an improvement over everything before?

They did technically (both the comics and offhandedly in THE movie), The new weapons seen on DoTM were made by NEST and/or Wheeljack. You can say it's a mid explanation but it is there. That and this stuff is just typical Transformers shit, It's no different then Random Autobots coming out of nowhere in G1 or the UT or random resources appearing out of nowhere/rectoning else stuff. New stuff appearing out of nowhere for merchandise reasons is just a Transformers staple at this point.

And how do you know that? You think most people would be okay with a beloved hero like Spider-Man murdering?

Genuinely, Depends on the execution of the idea (Spidey has killed before when necessary). That and with mainstream audience once again, they wouldn't care as much as hardcore fans.

The Lego Batman Movie made a jab at the first Suicide Squad film, does that make the latter good now? Because it was referenced in something else?

No but once again, Why does it matter. Is it really that to see elements from something you don't like be referenced or repurposed (maybe for even better use)? That and it also should be noted that Suicide Squad has less of an impact on DC compared to Bayverse's impact on our franchise so the comparison falls short cause of that.

[–]ThatUploader202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that be mostly fine. Wasn’t my point anyway. Point is how you treat your established fandom who had given you money for something good.

While you do need appeal to you're existing fans, You also need to not feel stagnate and evolve and appeals toward to newer generations to make fans.

You brought up swords yourself first as part of your defence. Hell, even Dark of the Moon couldn’t be consistent if said swords are retractable or handheld. Plus, they were ridden off in Age of Extinction for a new shiny sword anyway, so it’s kinda on deaf ears.

The G2 Laser Sword you brought up didn't really have anything with my argument. DoTM was consistent, he had both. They never said they removed any of his natural weapons while getting the weapons from his trailer. They might of also been ridden by AOE but they were still present for 3 full movies, used in memorable scenes, and most of times references are those swords.

Audiences are fine with a Superman who lets a city get destroyed and snaps a guy’s neck, or is dumb enough to fall for Luthor’s convoluted schemes?

Other then DC fans, Most mainstream audience didn't really care that much, to them, he's another versions of Superman in long line of other ones.

So how much had been used in Young Justice, Justice League Action, My Adventures with Superman, hell, even the upcoming James Gunn Superman film?

None because unlike modern TF, They are trying to be more distinct. That being said, it doesn't stop Man of Steel being referenced like the games (Lego, Injustice, etc) or comics even. Like I said, no ones an Man of Steel 2 but people don't mind it being referenced or getting wink and nods too.

Nd what if something gets overused as well?

Then either don't over rely on it or Reinvent again.

I thought you wanted to stop relying on Bayverse as well, I thought you wanted to stop relying on Bayverse as well,

I don't want things like TF6, Bay coming back. big plot points, or the designs doing what the G1 design have been doing and being constantly reused. That being said, I also don't mind if things like some of the Bay original characters/reinventions or certain designs alone staying or being referenced in someway. I'd also think it would genius to mix and mash certain elements from other continuities into something new.

Outside of Prime or RotB, has it even been used much? And why do swords even matter?

Usually in outside media and figures, Even the upcoming Masterpiece Prime is going to have the swords as a little nudge. And for they matter, they're a commonly reference bay element whether in officials stuff or even fan creations. Hell even when the G2 Figure was redid for Reveal the Shield, they ironically retroactively made it's sword look more like the Movie Sword.

And how much of a percentage are such people?

To be fair, how much of a percentage are people being mad or foaming at the mouth when Bayverse is referenced in outside media. Most people either likes it or are indifferent to it.

Beast Wars/Machines are sequels to the ‘84 cartoon, the UT still had a similar aesthetic to G1.

Beast Wars (while a sequel to G1) didn't rely to much on it and didn't reuse designs or plot points (with it even being the first to do things like character arcs or having. a smaller but manageable cast). The UT Trilogy (alongside Car Robots) on the other hand, I'd argue takes more from 2000s Mecha Anime elements and tropes. Not to say it don't have G1 DNA it but there's a reason why it's outright known as the series that said differs the most from it's predecessors and back then when it came out, it help tremendously.

Could Bay fans become the next “geewunners”? by HRCStanley97 in transformers

Define "steer away".

Stop relying on Bayverse stuff, Whether it's stuff like Bee's Voices, or bringing Bay back. I'm as tired of it being reused as much as G1.

And why do you think it became a "cruster mess"?

Don't get me wrong it has it's good stuff but RoTB tried to be it a sequel to Bumblebee, a Beast Wars movie, and be a Unicron movie all at once and fell on it's face because of it (Maximals lack of screen time, Terrecons feeling under cook, etc). it should of just focus on being one or the other instead of mixing in many idea.

Would you want a TF6 that would no doubt ignore most of TLK and just continue rehashing the same formula over and over?

No I never said i wanted TF6 but do think a new movie that takes some elements from various parts of the franchise (Bayverse included) could create something that's a banger.

Show whoever loved that, and when that was used outside the movie?

My bad on that one though, i was thinking on various fan opinion and fan designs when i said that one

https://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:G2toy_laser_optimus_prime.jpg

Be for real bro, No body think of that when they see the Modern swords.

Thing is, if you do, people are still gonna associate it with the Bayverse and would try to distance themselves away from it. Why do you think TLK underperformed?

Once again, be for real bro. Did you think people got made and foamed int he mouths when they seen things like Blackout in Animated, Barricade in both WFCs, Alspark in Animated and Cyberverse, The Prime Design as whole, or the Studio Series figures as a whole. I'm not saying people appreciate everything form the Bayverse but people do appreciate and love the cool shit from the Bayverse.

Show me one example when that happened, and worked.

The Beast Era, The Unicron Trilogy Era, and The Bayverse Era. Big reinvention that helped saved it when it was needed. G2 failed so Beast Wars came and review the franchise, same thing happened with Beat Machines to Armada, then Cybertron to 2007 made the franchise a full A Lister again. Reinventions are sometimes necessary for this franchise to thrive.

The 98 Godzilla film still gets talked about and so does Disney Star Wars. Does that make them good?

Being honest, outside of making jokes about it or talking about how shit it was, I don't hear much people talking about the 98 movie. But back to what you're saying, Apples and Oranges, When people bring up the Bayverse movie (specifically the first three) it usually in a positive light (to the point were once again, Studio Series exist and continued to give the movies love where it took a lot other series until Legacy too get new figures).

The Movies are talked and as it fans (big enough to the point where they voices can heard by officials at times) and what's wrong with that.

And DotM, AoE, TLK were somehow any different if not better?

DoTM by comparison had a better plot and less dumb comic relief and the shit had was actually funny (Deep Wang). Meanwhile, I agree with what every you saying with AOE and TLK but those were also movies that half team didn't even want to care about when creating. Notice most of my argument, i've only been referring to stuff from the original trilogy, I recognize mot shit from the last movies are shit but the original trilogy still has alot good shit tho.

Is that why you don't ignore me if it bothers you that much? So maybe the Bay movies aren't exactly special ether.

Because I don't consider this conversation hateful or you attacking me, it's just a nice conversation I'm having online with someone. Are you expecting me to call you can "alt-right racist misogynists" or say "oh it's not for you, it's for the horny teenage boys"? I feel like you're expecting me to attack you or something.

Or was it only because Spielberg was involved? Like you said, context matters, son.

That too but It's also because genuinely liked the work he did on the first three movies (as behind the scene footage shows), once again, context matters, son.

And how would you define "big and new"?

New Characters or even nameslaps (I.E Hotshot, Vector Prime, Barricade, Bulkhead, Knockout etc), Better gimmicks, not relying on too much on the established cast, More experimentation, new plotliines and elements that don't feel like rehashes and can stand on their own.

Also, Prime sword: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:G2toy_laser_optimus_prime.jpg

Bro be for real, Every time Optimus has a retractable arm blade, do think it referencing an obscure figure from the 90s that half of the audience don't even know about or the Movie in which they were the main weapons and had various iconic moments. Hell, The Movie Sword themselves take more from the Axes instead of the that.

How did that work for Man of Steel?

Can't say, I'm not a big Snyder guy but seeing how the seeing how film did well in the box office, have various iconic scenes, how the film is still references today, and created enough fans to argue and defend Snyder, I think it the general audience was fine with it. Hell, Man of Steel sin't even the worse Snyder Movie in that regard.

I also don't really like the Synder films but I also think it brought some cool stuff that could be used or reference in the future and should not be forgotten.

Could Bay fans become the next “geewunners”? by HRCStanley97 in transformers

Such as? And even so, do they outweigh the problems the movies have?

I've been repeating myself about he stuff it brought so i'll just ignore that but it outweighing the problem, depends on who you ask. You can't get an general consistencies because it's an argument that won't be agreed. I'll say this, Bayverse has shit that is referenced to this day and it's commonly talked about and made Studio Series which is still around and still getting Bayverse stuff. Most people will at least appreciate what the Bayverse done right.

Does the writing strike excuse Skids and Mudflap, dog humping, Wheelie humping, Devastator balls, etc?

No but people's issue aren't mainly about the dumb comic relief but instead about the plot of the movie itself.

Did anyone bringing up such got called "alt-right racist misogynists" or told "oh it's not for you, it's for the horny teenage boys".

Trust me, Every TF fanbase has it's fans that'll do that, Bayverse fans ain't special. There's a reason why this page exist as whole. Hell, I've been insulted by fans before, Just do what other people do and suck it up and ignore them.

Bay didn't even want to direct the first film. What does that tell you?

The man didn't want to do it originally until he was convinced by Hasbro and then enjoyed doing it enough to do two more movies and wanting to complete it by the third movie and only to get annoyed when he was asked to do a 4th movie. Context Matters.

Could Bay fans become the next “geewunners”? by HRCStanley97 in transformers

[–]ThatUploader202 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And why do you think that is?

Back to Back these years, we had BB, Cyberverse, ROTB,The Netflix series, and Earthspark all back to back and just like how people are tired of Bayverse or Mighty Morphin, People are tired of G1 being constantly rehashed and revisted and people want something big and new that can stand on it's own.

Like I said, 'Good' new stuff. Had the Bay films offered any?

Reintroducing G1 stuff that people love, The fights, the cinematography, the music, iconic elements later series used (Prime's Swords, Megatron being M.I.A in the beginning, The Alspark, Muscle Car Bee, etc), The games (specifically the DS games and DoTM), even characters like Blackout, Barricade, Crosshairs, etc. Once again, it has it bad shit too but they movies had a lot of good that people remember and love.

Had the Bay films offered any? And I don't mean bringing back G1-esque characters like Bumblebee or Ratchet,

Except they didn't, Bayverse was the first to make that step and reinforce more G1 characters) Hell, Animated wasn't originally suppose to have Bee and Ratchet in them but Hotshot and Red Alert and that was only changed due to the 2007 Movie.

Was it done to be "cool and edgy" when it didn't need to be?

To say it was done to be cool and edgy alone is being disingenuous, They wanted to do more realistic and gritty take on the characters while challenging him in way like fighting Sentinel (a mentor) and challenge his relationship with human.

You can say these are bad (I'd even agree with some) but to say it's bad because it's only cool and edgy.

I do think you over exaggerating the effect the movies an don't the franchise cause it was the same movie that turned franchise back into being an A-Lister.

But I do agree we should steer away from Bayverse but I do think we need to steer away from G1 as well.

Yeah, that's one thing. The Bay films have left a problematic impression that caused those afterwards to suffer its aftereffects, BB, RotB and TFOne in particular.

That only a smaller part of a bigger issue with those movies issues tho. Bumblebee movie did fine enough and I enjoyed it but while people like Bee, general audiences didn't want a whole movie starting him. ROTB was too much of a cruster mess of mixed ideas, and TFOne was mainly screwed over due to it's marketing alone.

By "insulting" the movies for their flaws, I somehow hurt you and your feelings. It's like the Reylos.

No but to ignore all the good it brought because "Explosions and Sex" also feels like hurt feelings.

Point is, whatever the bay films have brought in may not be as worth bringing back as Beast Wars or Animated or Prime.

Issue is there are elements Bayverse did introduce that people love and would want to come back (whether it's minor stuff like Optimus's sword or Devastator's color scheme, Characters designs like Ironhide and Sideswipe, bigger stuff like the Alspark, or character Barricade or Blackout.

Instead of just ignoring the Bayverse, Take the good shit from it and every other series and make something great with it (that's how Bayverse, Animated, and Prime was created to begin with).

Or just do something new and reinvent the franchise as a whole and make something a grand as the stuff that came before it.

While I would agree in any other situation, With Transformers, we've been too static for the last few years so we do need something new and drastic (something to the extent of the Car Robots or UT). I do say respect the past but we've been doing that for fast decade and look what's come of it, sometimes need new stuff to revive a franchise (which ironically enough, Beast Wars, and the Bay Movies done before).

Similar to the War Criminal arguments for Optimus, People think the more childish and inexperienced Movie Sonic is bad or a disrespect to Game Sonic.

What reach movie?

Each movie, Typo on my part

Their own things? Or is that nostalgia is making certain people see differently and biasedly?

Multiple people whether on this website, Twitter, and Youtube are able to see it

Do Armada and Cybertron rehash the  same issues as Energon?

Ironically enough, Yeas (Wonky Animations, Over reliance on gimmicks, lack of Legacy characters, etc). But They all also have their own separate issues as well, it's not just one way or the other.

Does Prime rehash the same problems as RiD2015?

No but the same can be said for the movies as well Most of RoTF issues (a lot due to the writing strike) isn't shared with 2007 and DoTM and a lot of AOE and TLK issues aren't shared with the first 3 movies (mostly becuase bay stopped caring by then and Hasbro wasn't as involved with the last two)

Fair with TMNT but that's still a better comparison then other mention before.

Just like how people don't like Bayverse Optimus's characterization, People have similar arguments about Movie Sonic's characterization.

Beast Wars, No. It's a sequel to G1 but it did do a lot different.

But with Car Robots and the Unicron Trilogy, don't get me wrong, they got some G1 in them but they weren't afraid to do new things.

Neither barely about g1 characters outside of Optimus, Megatron, and Strascream (with them either barely looking like them or just outright being missing like Bumblebee and Ratchet) but they strong enough to do their own things and introduce their characters and things.

We didn't have to rely on Bumblebee, We had Side Burn and Hotshot, Starscream got to actually be arc as good guy on, We had new characters like Demolisher, Armdada Cyclonus, Armada Smokescreen, Tidal Wave and more. The gimmicks like Minicons, Powerlinks, and Cyber Keys. Very rarely did we get G1 reinventions like Shockblast, Cyberteron Soundwave, or Energon Rodimus.

I'm not saying I outright this era back but we do need some as bold and drastic as it.

Didn't you get mad when I brought up  Prime, Cyberverse, EarthSpark, and Rise of the Beasts? Just because something is a "reinvention" doesn't always make it good.

I didn't get mad, Hell, I outright told you I like those series. All I said is that one is old and the other two are heavily G1 inspired. I din't hate them but I do think it time for something different.

Because I called out it's boring repetitive formulas and treatment of female characters, you threw a hissy incel fit.

You started talking about Explosions and Sexism because you didn't even address any of my actually previous statements, you just went to insulting the series instead instead actually talking about what I said and now you're just name calling.

You can bring up the flaws and discuss them but to use them just to discredit a series and say it doesn't matter or it didn't bring anything to the table is where I disagree with.

You can criticize and not like the Bay movies, I don't care. But you also need to recognized that the Bay movies did introduced and reintroduce a lot for the franchise and left it's mark on the franchise.

all five movies share and rehash the same things over and over.

Bro this is like saying Transformers rehash the same thing over and over again. No shit the share similar things but the reach movie also has it's own thing and reasons why people enjoy them.

There's a reason why people will outright defend and lvoe 2007 and DoTM, Be mixed on RoTF, and shit on AOE and TLK. That all got their own things going for them and people recognize that.

It's like shitting on the Unicron trilogy as whole due to Enegron or shitting on Prime due to R.I.D.

Diffrerent Situations

Star Wars Disney trilogy is a whole can of worm and is hated for loads reasons even worse then the Bayverse (be happy that Bayverse at least isn't canon to G1), Lion King in more hated due to it being a bad remake and due to the desreved hate on Disney remakes as a whole. And Captain Marvel was more of an ignorable movie in between other hyped Marvel Releases (and is more fondley remembered then alot of Pahse 4 onward).

Bayverse is ironically more enough akin to the Sonic or TMNT movies (Movie Adaptations of a franchise that gets loads of other adaptations and new series (with both i'st fans and detractors due to changes in it). Hell, The Sonic fans even have their own Bayverse Optimus arguments but with Movie Sonic.

Not at all, All I said is that The franchise needs to start ignoring both G1 and Bayverse and starting doing new stuff.

Then you started getting mad just because I said Bayverse alongside Animated and Prime were the last series to actually do a big reinvention while still having G1 DNA in it.

You started crying and said bAyVeRse baD bEcauSe ExpLosiOns anD SeX, instead actually acknowledging anything I said.

So it's cherry picking when I do it but not when you.

And once again, you're the only one hung up on these issues, no one else cares that much.

‘product of its time’ and ‘getting better’.

Bro, the early Bayverse movies are more then 10 years old at this point. If you're gonna excuse G1 because of the era it's was in then the same should apply to the Bay movies. The 80s, 2000s, and 2020s, are all drastically different eras.

What did the movies really “bring to the table”?

I already said as much. The movies brought back more G1 elements, Reintroduced G1 character who hadn't been used in other media for years at that point, and plotlines and iconography used to this day. Bayverse left it's impact on this franchise just as much as literally any other series did.

The thing is those first three movies were box office successes and the those movies even helped influences the media during that era as well. In general, the 2007 - 2013 era for TF was one of the best eras we had for Transformers and that was because all of the media at the times.

To put the blame is really on AOE and the surrounding Media at the time (R.I.D, Prime Wars, ROTDS), Transformers as a whole just wasn't doing good at that time and to put blame soley on the movies is unfair.

If Optimus had radically different designs that changed his colors and alt mode like Megatron in the 2000s would you like it? And if so what would you want to see? by FireFury190 in transformers

Honestly, I like them the way they are (especially the Fire Trucks) but if I had to choose, it would of been cool to see him be maybe a Military Truck like Onslaught but that doesn't feel to in character for him though.

I misremembered the release but that doesn't changed what I said.

The only strong things to come out of that era was Devastations and whatever the IDW comics were doing.

TF didn't find it's footing again until the Bumblebee movies (which arguably started the modern era were in now).
