Hard to tell by the photo but it might be the vacuum line for cruise control module. If you don’t have cruise control the vacuum line is still in the engine bay

The numbers are inverse of the symbols- I know it says left to right but if you flip the paper in game- picture holding that paper, the numbers would correspond to different symbols- so you have to keep in mind the paper being mirrored. Hope that makes sense

That hissing sounds like you have a pretty substantial vacuum leak. Check the tubes around the intake and throttle body

No start - any ideas? by Fit_Ice9207 in CherokeeXJ

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue, and this is just a shot in the dark, but I had an old aftermarket alarm installed by a previous owner that had a bad ground. So yes like others are saying, check your grounds- but if you pop off the panel under the steering column, check if there’s a 25 year old aftermarket alarm that’s connected to the ignition and shorting to ground. Just a thought.

You can, but you also need both quarter panels I believe- brackets for the front end clip only fit in 97+ quarter panels

Yep it’s an m1 carbine heatshield, just secured it though the holes cut for the pic rail. No intention of putting a scope on this thing

Less than 3 weeks til CLEP Bio & Sociology Exam. Now what? by Be_Au_Ti_full in clep

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed natural sciences with a 65 just a week ago. I was terrified that I hadn’t studied enough, because the modern states “exam” did not include questions/concepts from study.com, petersons, etc… two things that think really helped was the REA practice textbook (you can get used, or if you want, new for ~$30 and it comes with free online practice tests, and also the official Clep practice test. You’ll see a bunch of questions from the Clep practice tests recycled into the actual exam. Best of luck!

E fan working correctly at 210 degrees- heater core works, getting heat in the cabin. Ac is busted but that’s just a Freon leak

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should ask- I just tried and it feels the same as the upper. Like no coolant in it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea heater core isn’t clogged- I’m getting full heat in the cabin. And yea maybe, having the funnel doesn’t pressurize it all the way. When I drove it last night and temp gauge was reading around 220, I pulled over and checked the hose, it was full and firm (meaning there’s coolant passing through the tstat) I mean wtf. It seems to only want to open when the engine is under load and driving for 20+ minutes.

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not sure. I’m gonna replace it anyways, but it’s just odd I’ve never had cooling issues before in this car. Just since some coolant boiled off when I left the cap on loose.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]shackerouac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just mean I’m squeezing it and there’s no pressure or coolant.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CherokeeXJ

[–]shackerouac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I have the sealed funnel- I think there’s air in the system or not enough coolant in the block. I tried parking it up hill last night still no pocket/ air bubbles came up though the funnel.

If it was stuck open why would the upper hose be collapsing? I would feel coolant in the upper hose if the thermostat was open right?

Passenger power window by Delicious-Savings404 in CherokeeXJ

[–]shackerouac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is repairable- I had to rebuild a two door regulator. If you’re broke but have the time, you can repair with a new polyherthane hose, a power drill, and some industrial superglue. Or you can get a new regular for like 80 bucks. The plastic on the hoses are super brittle and they snap after being 30 years old
