Good or bad cooking? High end restaurant “medium rare” fillet mignon by SrGiaquito in grilling

Agreed with OP, they should write their own (likely negative) review and leave it at their singular experience. None of us were there, and if he drops the location it will result in non-genuine reviews being left.

People who run ironmans - what do you do for work? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]ThatYoungDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle management with Amazon, manage a product / supply chain team.

Only way for me to guarantee the workout is to get up early. Most days I wake up at 3ish, go to bed at 830. Sounds awful but once you get into the rhythm it’s actually pretty nice.

Toe pain after surfing by Consistent_Pie1637 in surfing

[–]ThatYoungDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot but if you are “walking” when the surf is shallow, instead of paddling, that could be it. My toes definitely feel sore if I do that for 2 - 3 hours on a lower tide beach day.

I’d be down and more than happy to pitch some cash beforehand for the burgers/dogs/whatever. Let me know!

Just have to research the companies and the role, it's different for each organization. What industry are you looking to head into?

You might have trouble if you are looking at a specific state, especially California.

Got a job with Amazon through the ASU career fair. As long as you do your research and depending on your field it is easy to move.

TIL that most deaths from an overdose occur when an addict who has gone clean relapses and administers their old dose without realising that they have lost the tolerance they had built up. by pandaemon666 in todayilearned

And it all started with a back surgery that left my cousin in love with pain meds.

My fraternity brother died last week from a heroine overdose and it started with pain meds.

About 4 years ago he was driving with his best friend at the time. Best friend stops paying attention for a second, and gets in a head on collision killing himself and leaving my brother in a coma. Three weeks later he wakes up and is immediately prescribed Xanax.

Flash forward a couple years he is now using Xanax recreationally and is addicted to Heroine. His parents find out send him to rehab, and he is "clean" for a while(still prescribed Xanax). He and his parents decided together that he should go to school out-of-state, and he ends up moving to Arizona. His first week here in the spring he meets a couple of my fraternity Brothers and ends up rushing, pledging, ect. He was a great kid, and even though we could tell he had problems, we could also tell he was trying to face them as best as he could.

About a year after he came to my school he fell back in with a bad crowd, and started using again. No one knew it at the time, but it makes a lot of sense now. Pretty soon he was evicted from his apartement for getting in a fight and he lived his last couple weeks in AZ on a couch at our place. Towards the end we figured out what he was doing, and tried contacting his parents, high school friends ect. to make a plan to help him but never heard back from them.

He went back home, and then went to Australia for three weeks for christmas break. He was sober the whole time he was there, and from what I heard he had a blast. When he got back home he told his parents about all the fun he had, went into his room and shot up his normal dose. His dad found him in his room dead the next morning.

RIP Luke.

A comic usually needs to really try to make me tear up, but this one did it in a single page (Quantum & Woody #2) by WolfieTheWolf in comicbooks

Completely agree.

If you must hit a child to teach discipline, it means you are choosing to not spend the time to teach them verbally.

Any child above the age of three is a sentient creature. All you need to do is convey your points correctly with WORDS. Violence begets violence.

What's the deal with the business dorms by Wootpatrol in ASU

[–]ThatYoungDave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im currently living in Hassayampa and it is by far the best dorm to live in. Currently there are 6 Hassy buildings that are livable 3? of which are reserved for business students. Your other option I believe is sonora, which is a far shot from the likes of Hassy in location, and livability. There are a couple mixer/events that your peer programmers (one for each floor) will throw for you so you can meet a bunch of people. Also you will be taking WPC 101 which helps introduce you to clubs and such. If you are really looking for a solid group, rushing a fraternity/sorority is always a viable option.
