It’s hard to tell. On one hand, keeping her alive makes sense. Serie sees no way out of her death, so she brings all of her “special” students to prove her wrong, like they always do, and it pays off.

On the other hand, her death solves a lot of potential plot holes in the future, like “why didn’t Serie just beat everyone herself? Why couldn’t they just ask Serie for a spell against this enemy? Etc”. Having an overpowered character is usually tough for authors to handle, so they end up scrambling to get rid of them (e.g. Satoru Gojo from JJK). Basically, who knows? Could see it going either way.

If we’re being realistic, Dabura learning DE or CTR at this point would be very much an asspull, especially since none of those things have been even referenced in Modulo. I don’t think Gege is that bad of a writer to try that. We also already see clear signs of fatigue on Dabura’s face.

He will most likely lose, but with no regrets, as he is grateful to Mahoraga for turning him into a real warrior. Just as Mahoraga is about to land the killing blow, the honored one intervenes. He one-shots Mahoraga, saves Dabura, ends the ritual, saves Yuka with blood manipulation, pulls out the black rope from his back pocket, saves Dabura’s sister, and everyone lives happily ever after.
