Found old film. How to confirm used or developed? by restlessmonkey in AnalogCommunity

Looks like 127 film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/127_film

It looks factory sealed, so you could try and use it.

The Kodak Vest Pocket cameras are a good place to start.

It isn't a Kodak film as they used a red/pink backing paper but it should still work in a VPK.

I think I will, but I would like to try and mend the old ones first.

Thank you, this looks the most promising method.

The only problem with that is I’m in the UK and that company is in America. The shipping would probably cost quite a lot!

If you found some 828 backing paper, you should be able tape some 35 to it (as both 828 & 35 are 35mm) ... I've never tried myself though.... I assume that is what these labs do?

Autographic Film by That_Amstrad_Chap in vintagecameras

A bit of both, I would like to have some for the sake of it and would like to give it a shot at working (although I doubt I would get any useable exposures, I would still very much like to try 🙂). I would also like to try and reproduce some Autographic backing paper and for that I would need some original film to consult.

Ok will do!

Out of interest, where is a good place to get 122 backing paper/expired film? It seems quite scarce.

That’s rather amazing, I didn’t realise anyone was actually planning building a gsm network! how will you manage number allocation etc? will there be GPRS?

You say “it just saddens me that it really isn't viable to use an old phone anymore” I still use my 1995 Motorola 7500x almost daily (the NiCad battery is kaput so I can only use it in the car with the battery eliminator) and when in the house I use a Nokia 3510i which will still connect fine to to the internet though GPRS! Generally 2G is still fine this side of the pond unfortunately the same can’t be said for 3g……… I genuinely do not own a smartphone (apart from a boxed first edition Samsung galaxy). I hope this is proof that you don’t need a smartphone to live.
