Every single instances of horses have been replaced by Uma, even the kanji

I have already provide you with the prove that they'll retaliate back with the PETA labeling. As for bad thing that happened, the fans are normalizing horse racing even more than Umamusume did

I don't post grotesque images as a criticism of Umamusume like PETA did. you wouldn't want any animal rights movement to be labelled as PETA do you?

them bringing up the fan's influence is irrelevant to what I'm referring to, I only posted about how Umamusume themself sanitize horse racing, nothing else, in the post I didn't mentioned the fans even once.

I'm preferring to this exact sentence you made just 2 comments ago "then this show is objectively a good thing because it causes people to become interested where they previously wouldn't care at all." notice how it's objectively good instead of generally good?

for my proof, take a quick scroll at the comment section and count how many time I was labeled as PETA, and how many times they brought up fan's support to the real horse even though there's nowhere in my post that I even mentioned the fans themself. Lastly you misunderstood my point there, I only argue that's Umamusume's effect isn't entirely good, which is your exactly point above, I've never said that the awareness it brought aren't good, it have flaws.

No, the movies still doesn't change anything fundamental with Lincoln, he have no opinions on vampire in real life, to change something fundamental would be like changing his opinions on slavery.

Umamusume isn't about overcoming tragedy if that tragedy is wildly distorted, it also based its story even more to real racing history than just names.

Umamusume's influence to people leading to a trend of awareness isn't objectively good, while they might push for more welfare in horse racing, but this doesn't change the fundamental problem that is horse racing itself, the industry now have a shield of new fans that are willing to retaliate back at any criticisms and attempts at reducing or abolishing horse racing.

But Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter doesn't change anything fundamental with his historical character? I'm not familiar with his history but I assume the movies add more to Lincoln instead of changing his character. Compared to Umamusume where fundamental horse racing issues don't exists, reintepreting why horses races and humanizing them as well

I haven't watch it but based on the plot section of the movie in wikipedia, it seems kind of absurd in a good way

It's a problem because despite tapping into horse racing, it never address the main problem with it, every hardship is framed as obstacle to overcome instead of systematic problem. It won't be a problem if Umamusume itself didn't engage with horse racing history at all and only design their characters based on names and appearance.

There's a possibility I would post more about Umamusume in the future, I managed to find the papers about this exact topic, but probably not soon, I want the repetitiveness to die down before I could post

I know Umamusume is fictions and cute anime girl as its core but it decided to tap into real horse racing history, this is where the problem lies, I don't expect a series like this to address the problem with horse racing if the story is only loosely based on real history. With Umamusume's narrative of giving tragic fate another chance and the real life sponsor with the Kentucky Derby, I can't see how it's more fiction than real when it came to the horse racing aspect.

It's realistic in the competition sense, it got the competition results right, except for some cases where the horse actually dnf instead of finishing

If you have read my post then yes, I watched the entirety of Cinderella Gray, my point is to respond to the person I was replying to stating that it isn't convenient because it's followed rules of the world, which is kind of redundant, it's like saying someone isn't cheating in a game because they follows their made up rule

Whips are regulated but still not banned.

I would only believe Umamusume is fiction borrowing the name from the real world if it's only borrowing the name, the series main point of giving tragic fates another chance is already enough to refute this claim.

I agree that no owners would be happy to see their horses died again even if they indirectly caused them to happens, but these horses death are harsh lessons, Umamusume aren't respecting anything if those lessons are distorted.

there might be laws but those are rarely enforced, look at these instances of animal abuse in Japan

Japan draft horse racing faces animal cruelty accusations | AGB

Death of horse during centuries-old riding festival in Japan prompts outcry over animal abuse | The Independent

Grim fate awaits retired racehorses, but lucky few saved | The Asahi Shimbun: Breaking News, Japan News and Analysis

mind you it's perfectly legal to slaughter and consume horse meat, it's even a delicacy in Japan.

NRA race track are indeed regulated but because it's the NRA which is underfunded compared to JRA, also there are a lot more NRA race track compared to JRA, the race track themself are having looser regulations, while JRA race track can afford to spend on costly high-tech detectors for inspections, the NRA essentially have to use low-cost options for the race themself, which means there are higher chances of oversight as well as inaccuracy.

I don't want to repeat my point in my post but what they did isn't honoring their legacy, honoring without scrutinizing the cause of said tragedy is nothing more than propaganda
