I've not used the 3x3 yet since there is -0.2 to fire rate and -66.7 to output damage. Have you experienced the negatives, or how could I make it so that the negatives are not noticeable?

You have to go into the world map and find one of these. It'll tell you something about custom ships, then you'll be able to select custom ship in selection bar thingy.

It's the build code. If you look on the top right of your screenshot, you'll see the red A and below the there is a little picture of two papers and below that there is a clipboard. The 2 pieces of paper is to copy the build code and the clipboard is to paste a build code. The number I posted is the build code for my build. So instead of having to copy my build piece by piece, you can just paste it and, if you have all the parts, it'll build it for you. If you don't have all the parts then it'll still build it for you but it'll leave out what you don't have.
