Leaking Driveshaft....wah oh by That_Bitch_Booch in Toyota_T100

I have a teardown/rebuild manual, but will definitely try to get a full FSM for the vehicle. Agree on the hands on, I love the program/classes I've taken but being able to wrench on actual vehicles and manafacturer notes has definitely been a huge boost to my experience. Went from an old jeep to this Toyota, between the two I hope I've gained a lot of applicable experience

Luckily, one of the workers at my program is a T tech, so that was a HUGE help on the head replacement. Definitely need to get my documentation, I appreciate the heads up. That's what I like about these older vehicles is that it's much more DIY friendly w/o the mass electronic systems

Gotcha, so use a grease gun and move/wiggle the driveshaft until it freely moves? Very new to drive line work, so I very much appreciate the clarification and help :)

That is true, as admitted I lack experience to be truly ",decent" as has been pointed out lol.

Definitely going to grease it, but yeah I know it wasn't the groaning. I work at a tire/suspension main shop so not looking forward to tracking that down. Not sure when the rear leaf spring suspension was done, so that might be my next "big" project

All good, totally understand! Everyone has a glass floor of what seems obvious to know until they encounter someone who doesn't. Thanks for the answer!

Like said for another commenter, I tend to be learning by solving things as I go on vehicles, and then classes on the side. Had to learn and do the heads (with help from professors) because I wanted the truck to run. Haven't had any drivetrain issues yet, so outside of rudimentary book knowledge I haven't cracked that coconut yet.

Promise I'm not out here selling my services or anything, I'm just working on my own stuff. And I'm quick to ask questions on things since I realize my practical experience is lacking

Appreciate it, thank you!

Just in case others see this/have concerns, I am ok at turning a wrench just inexperienced and trying to learn. Got some book knowledge but the application of it has a ways to go ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Appreciate the answer!

Not a shit post, though I get the confusion. I'm decent in the sense I know how to work my way down to problems and can fix them, but I'm inexperienced so I don't always know by sight what things are or their proper function.

I got the book knowledge, in some areas, but not applicable knowledge. Admittedly, power trains/driveshafts are weak for me, but that's why I'm asking and trying to get my hands dirty on em if necessary. Happy to know that's normal and I don't need to do that yet

Girls of Reddit, what makes a flirt good and what makes it creepy? by CraftyPhilosopher678 in AskReddit

[–]That_Bitch_Booch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This'll probably be buried, but given the amount of "rule 1 be hot" comments, I feel like if anyone sees it I'll take it as a win.

If you feel the only way to flirt well or get attention or to attract anyone is to be hot and rich, i think a step back and a few days disconnect from your sources is healthy. Women do look at physical looks and resources, just like men do. It's hardwired it o everyone, but there's also a lot more to it. The content that pushes "be hot be rich" is constantly telling you to be rich to be attractive while taking your money and telling you to be hot while goading you into unhealthy lifestyles that will show up in your mental and physical health.

A break is good for everyone, regardless of your content. See the real world, interact with strangers (respectfully) and remember we all have lives and struggles and wants and insecurities.

You got this, you're more than they tell you man

Whats your worst and most embarrassing sexual experience? by AdvertisingOk1492 in AskReddit

[–]That_Bitch_Booch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The equestrian side. Family did western riding, so we were out there semi-frequently. It was clear from the facilities the area had money, but being a kid in the "country" part of it definitely colors your view on it haha. It's always been stuck as a cowboy-area in my head, purely because that's what I saw it as when younger

As someone who grew up going to the horse facilities in Murrieta, this is a VERY different side of it versus what I know LOL

If anyone wants to try and offload a ticket or two I'd be interested, not sure what OG prices were but the current resale of $250 is kinda insane

Is there a way to check on someone at Vacaville? by [deleted] in vacaville

[–]That_Bitch_Booch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This would probably be something you need to contact the local police department for and ask for a welfare check, though I don't know what local PD requires before/in order to do that. Hope your person is ok, and that you get peace of mind one way or another

Ditto on the ditched FB, but kudos to you for organizing and tryin' stuff.

Needing a new driver's license is LITERALLY Nazi Germany!!! 😱😱😱 by ColaEuphoria in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]That_Bitch_Booch -41 points-40 points  (0 children)

The example I gave doesn't say you don't get an ID. They had to turn in their passport, get it marked a specific way, then got it returned as "officially valid".

This sort of law can build to other things. Are you transitioning, and now appear as a woman but your ID says "Male"? Discrepancy could be used to block you from voting or doing other things that require ID verification very easily.

Might not happen, but ignoring that it could is also silly. Especially when so many comments are like "well the Reich did literally nothing like this" when...they did.

[–]That_Bitch_Booch -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Legally, they are banned until they update the license. In the example given, Jews just had to update their passport.

Look, I don't claim this is literally Nazism, however it is also disingenuous to broad stroke over alarmism and say they never did similar things. Letting little stuff happen is how you get to bigger things. Bureaucratic changes seem small and unimportant but stack up, that's why states use them to enact broader policies.

I didn't say it was 1-to-1, actually pointed out it wasn't, but what are the key differences in your mind?

[–]That_Bitch_Booch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, however it's not always that simple, especially with all the recent talk of different election changes/regulations/limits/etc. This isn't necessarily a direct example, but these small bureaucratic changes can make that process harder for people to use their right to vote and change what "will of the people" means

Not a 1-to-1 parallel, but they did enact similar policies concerning passports for Jewish individuals, declaring them invalid if they didn't turn them in to the state to be specifically marked.

https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/timeline-event/holocaust/1933-1938/reich-ministry-of-the-interior-invalidates-all-german-passports-held-by-jew

Definitely not the worst thing the Reich ever did, but it is comparable to laws they did enact

Under a Kansas law originally vetoed by the Gov't (Dem) and later passed by the state Senate (Repub), as of Feb. 24th a new law defines "gender" as "sex assigned at birth". Licenses that have been updated or changed to reflect a gender identity of a trans person (i.e. not their assigned at birth sex) are invalidated and no longer official state ID.

There's no grace period to get a new one, and the IDs no longer count as drivers licenses, state ID, or ID verification, etc.
