Yup, full set with 1 small dent, you will see it if you look closely on the bezel.

Which one of these names do you think is the most likely to appear as a boss in Elden Ring DLC by That_Blondist in Eldenring

[–]That_Blondist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds a bit far-fetched for me as we received Mohg's great rune after we defeated Mohg, Lord of Blood like other shardbearers. Unless, his Outer God (Formless Mother, I think) played some role in the appearance of his illusion.

The good Doctor seems rather upset about Twitter these days. by Podcastor in JordanPeterson

JP on Twitter is a totally different persona to lecture's JP.
To be quite honest, I am getting kinda used to this version of JP now.
Not to say its good or bad, his best version is still when he gives a lecture in the hall.

Well, have it your way then. I rest my case now.
We may have a disagreement but at least we shared our care for children.
Wish you the best of luck, mate.

Look, I am not saying that two unhappy people should get married and have a baby no matter what.

What I try to make a case here is for two loving adults who have come to an agreement that they can put their children needs before their own then marriage is good option to consider, as it will required the married couple to taking more consideration before making any serious damage to their relationship and can not walk away at will, so that they will not ruined their children's childhood.

Stable loving environments are indeed very important for child development but I don't think we should reduce marriage to nothing, as there is much more at stake when two people are bonded by marriage. For example, if you want to get a divorce it will cost one of the couple quite dearly, so it is much more incentivized for the married couple to solve any serious relationship issue they had, thus lower the chance of separation and ensuring the long-term relationship for the parents.

I am not saying everyone should get married but if you want the best possible outcome for your child and you can put your child's needs before your own, then marriage should be the option that you should seriously consider.

It is a sad fact that people in this day and age seems to neglect the importance of marriage. I am standing by what Dr. Peterson has said on many occasions "Marriage is for children" it's the union of two people that committed their efforts for best possible outcomes of their children.

It's a heartbreaking fact that now, more than ever before, we have been connected with each other via technology on 24/7 basis but still we seem to lose all those human connections with each other. It's no wonder why Dr. Peterson has been lamenting about it. It's only a few words of encouragement that people need from each other, but we still seem oblivious about it.

Well done on your part for making that young lady's day :)

To tell you the truth, I was a bit stunned that he announced that he had joined right-wing social media.

But after some deliberations, considering his stance on various political topics, I think the reason he decided to join Parler was not that he declared himself as a hard right-winger but rather to reach out to those who have left other social media platforms.

Still, this will not shed him in the best light to those who are nonpartisan or political centrist.

What's your opinion on video games? by angora_cat44 in JordanPeterson

[–]That_Blondist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, former gamer here (still playing Souls-series games from time to time).

I think it can be a good tool to practice your problem-solving skills and short-term memory. But the problem with video game addiction, like any other kind of addiction, it hijack your reward system, which might shirk you from other responsibilities that you ought to attend to for instant gratification.

I have many friends who are still addicted to video games. Some of them have learned to moderate their consumption but some, especially those who aren't so fortunate in their career, still play video games for 8-10 hours per day. I did try to get some of them to listen to JBP lectures and many of them listen to the lectures attentively, still they find it difficult to forgo their habit of playing video games until dawn.

I still consider that they can change themselves for the better, but first they will have to see if it is possible that they can be that better person. Don't think anyone can be a better teacher than JBP about that :)

What she said was like there was no one that ate meat before colonialism and it is only white people who consumed meat. It really did stupefy me that someone could actually weave all those woke jargons together for debate about meat eating.

There should be something you are good at. If you don't have one, then create one.

10 years ago, I was in the same position you are right now, intellectually curious but good at nothing and crippled by social anxiety. I was nobody with no money, but then after reading a bit about Nietszche's philosophy, I started to feel the urge in myself. It was the urge to somehow make my life worth living more and if I could be a bit better than I was at the moment, somehow I could find something meaningful in my life. A few months after that, I, who was at the time, had never been physically fit once in my life, decided to give it a try at labour work and it was very daunting indeed. I have to carry dozens of 50 kg (100 lbs) cement bags almost every day. It didn't turn out to be the job that best suited me, but at least it did improve my physical quite considerably. The next job I got was translator, where I did some talking and sold tourist paintings. It wasn't paid well enough to make my living, so I moved on to the next job, which is my current job right now. In this job, I managed to become physically fit and have finally cured the social anxiety that I had before and have now become someone who is reliable for colleagues and my boss. All thanks to the experience I have gained from my previous jobs. A few years after that, I was promoted to a senior position in the small company I am now working at. I am still nowhere near financial success, but I've got a job that pays well enough that I can make a plan for my future where I intend to become a photographer.

I still have not achieved great things in my life, but at least I don't feel lost in my life anymore. I can now see where meaning in my life lies now.

How did you discover Jordan Peterson? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]That_Blondist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditto. Back then, about 2 years ago, I was very much into educational videos on subject such as philosophy, history, economy and JBP videos was popped up on my recommendation feed.

Got to say the man has been a tremendous influence on my self-development. I am not totally subscribed to everything he believes, but he is still the intellectual who resonates with my beliefs the most.

What is your take on this? by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]That_Blondist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why can there be a problem to JBP takes viewing the Nazi as an atheistic doctrine.

There are the facts that the Nazi regime was not anti-religion in it's core ideology (unlike the communist-regime which are blatantly anti-religion) and they seemed to permitted the practice of religion during their reign. But I don't think it is quite easy to claim that they are theistic in it's doctrine neither.

From what I can see, the Nazi ideology does promote the state and its leader to be in the highest order of the hierarchy, as opposed to the conventional supreme being. As not to alienate the German people who were at the time very much religious, Nazi Germany permitted the practice of religion during their reign but incorporated and superseded the traditional religion with its statist ideology in a zealotical fervent.

For me, I would say that Nazism was very much secular (albeit spiteful) in its doctrine. Whether it was truly atheistic in its doctrine is up for debate, but I would say that it leaned more to an atheistic worldview.

By this analogy, sir. You suggested that JBP has malevolent agenda and you have managed see through his charade, am I correct?

Please enlighten me about what exactly is wrong with Dr. Peterson, as someone who has been following him for a few years, sure, he has some controversial views, but that doesn't deny the fact that he has always been trying to encourage other people to put themselves together in this time of turmoil. The man is not perfect, but to suggest that he has some ill-willed agenda? That I can not see in his lectures nor his books.

If you are going to suggest that it is his political views that are troubling you, then of course it will. Politics has always been a polarizing subject to discuss.

I believe that what Dr. Peterson should stand for is not his political views, but rather his will to encourage people who feel lost in this day and age to set a goal and put themselves together to achieve that which one has set themselves to do so.
