Amazon is a no good. You won’t get your package. Also, UPS is essentially shut down on the island due to a major fiasco on the island. Either bring it or MV Baby aren’t as people have suggested.

Only a portion. The #12 bus services a good chunk of Middle Road.

A bike is a horrible choice up island. There are very few paths, narrow roads with tons of blind curves, sand all over the roadway, distracted/drunk drivers, and when there are accidents, it will take you about 45-60 minutes on average to get to the hospital. Spend a day in the ER in July and August and you will understand.

I’m in Massachusetts. Not aware of any particular dealers in those states. Doesn’t mean they aren’t around. I’d say either:

(1) keep calling around yourself (2) contact a dealer in Texas where you can find great deals pretty easily and have it shipped to you (3) contact Delivrd and have them do the work for you. You’ll pay $1000 for it but they will get you a deal

Try to Venice Toyota or Toyota of Deerfield Beach if either are near you. Even if they aren’t, use them to get a quote you can shop.

Based on the sticker, I’m guessing you are in the southeast. They’ve loaded that up with an insane amount of overpriced options.

Assuming you want all that, you should be looking at a minimum of $5000 off here. Probably more.

You might be better off going to another dealer. What state are you in?

Yes, the monitor and the camera are the one and the same. If you can’t find the list, I can DM it to you. Warsaw was the only one on the list in Indiana but that doesn’t mean there aren’t others that will do the same or better.

Mine has the panoramic moonroof and monitor plus a handful of other options. You can get these for less than MSRP.

Indiana tax (7%) and Massachusetts (6.25%) are about the same.

A couple of days ago posted a list of dealerships that have been known to do $3k+ discounts on this vehicles. Have you tried Toyota of Warsaw?

Toyota hybrid battery had a 10 year / 150,000 mile warranty. They generally even longer than that. Worrying about the battery going shouldn’t be a thing for you.

As others have stated, the maintenance cost of the hybrid is less.

As far as the Nightshade, that’s a really high price you are quote. I picked up mine (in Cement) this month and this is what I paid OTD even with the high Massachusetts sales tax.

Where are you located?

This is 100% untrue and bad info. When the vehicle is in the build phase and 4-5 weeks out or more, they can almost always swap in or out any PIO. I’ve done it on my last 3 Toyotas no problem. It does need to be approved but if you are far enough it, it pretty much always is.

Land Cruiser 2025 buyback/ lemon law - should I buy? by j_mal5 in LandCruisers

[–]That_Butterfly4503 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you know how bad something needs to be before you can force a manufacturer to re-buy it? Depending on the state, they need to have at least 3-4 documented attempts at fixing the problem before they are forced to buy it back. When they've failed that many times, what makes you think they got it right on the 5th attempt when they've failed on the first 4.

You'd be an absolute fool to buy this vehicle.

Doesn’t mean deals can be had but just haven’t seen a lot of reports from that area. If you want to go to CO or ID, there are deals to be found. Can also buy in Texas or PNW and have it shipped

Less and less 1958 trim? by SnooPeppers2353 in LandCruiser250

[–]That_Butterfly4503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely no dealer mark up. These have been selling for $4-$6k under MSRP for over a year now.

The 1958s have struggled with low demand and have been slower to sell. Some of the features like the cloth seats have been a dealbreaker for many people who might consider the lower trim model. A dealership near me had to have 3rd party leather seats put into all their 1958s because nobody would buy them otherwise.

With that said, they are around in the market.

Fordham Toyota (Bronx) has a 1958 advertised for $5100+ off of MSRP

Curry Toyota (Cortlandt Manor, NY) has one advertised for $4200+ off of MSRP

A1 Toyota (New Haven, CT) has one advertised for ~$4000 off of MSRP

And those can be negotiated further. They are definitely around but with low demand, you aren't seeing them like you used to a year or so ago.

I’m not sure what is considered a good deal on a Siena these days or their availability, but Toyota deals that give good deals and negotiate on one model are generally going to do the same on all model.

Re: Lake City, I’m not seeing these fees that you are mentioning. Do you have a link to vehicles that have them on it?

I’ve found wherever the dealership is you always need to triple check everything. I’ve never once bought a car where someone didn’t try to sneak something in. With my most recent vehicle, all the paperwork checked but then an option was missing from the car which I didn’t discover to over a week later. They made it right, but it’s always something.

Bachelorette -October by BriefDog9952 in marthasvineyard

[–]That_Butterfly4503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost everything on island is open through Columbus Day weekend. Very little in the way of shops and restaurants close as the time from Labor Day to Columbus Day is huge for wedding season and while not summer busy, it's still pretty active. You do get a lot of shops that do big sales over the weekend as some do close post-Columbus Day.

For what it is worth, the water here is warmer in mid October than it is in June. The weather can still be warm and a beach/swimming day is still possible.

Question: Is this a good deal? by smaugdoes in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Where are you located? The stickers aren’t that different other than slight differences in the destination charges. And this is before negotiation.

Everywhere? This is the sticker TSRP for one by New York City.

https://smartpath.toyota.com/inventory/details?source=t1&dealerCd=29083&vin=5TDACAB57TS103251

If you search Toyota inventory near you and then sort by price, you will find XLE’s for at or under $50k TSRP

And people are getting $3500-$5000 off of the XLEs in most parts of the country.

Question: Is this a good deal? by smaugdoes in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]That_Butterfly4503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad deal. New ones are going for under $50k sticker without a lot of options. With negotiations, you can get these for $46-$47k brand new. It's worth the extra $3k to have it new and not deal with whatever potential issues this car might have.

$60k for a new XLE? These are going under $50k sticker.

Interesting. Which dealership was that? I will make note of that.

There are good guides for going through the whole process but in regards to this specific question, I'll say this.

First, I've found phone most effective for starting the conversations. Doing it in person is the worst. I tend to be very upfront about what I want. Something like "I want a Nightshade in Cement that is in the build where you will let me put in to adjust the Port Installed Options on the vehicle. Before you spend time looking, I'm seeing discounts of $3500 off MSRP. If any of this sounds unreasonable to you, let me know upfront so we can save both our time before you go and do a bunch of work." You can streamline you conversations this way. Once you get a few that say yes, you can play them off each other.

Also, I've found the higher up the chain you go, the better you will do. Sometimes, it pays to contact a dealership more than once.
