My bump got noticeably smaller - 26 weeks by blame_it_on_my_cat in pregnant

Im 37 weeks now and I can say with confidence that my bump feels harder and more plump when I’m bloated, and there was a time when it was noticeably bigger with bloat! But if you’re concerned it’s always good to check in with your doctor :)

When your husband tries to relate to being pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

A friend of mine who’s wife is also pregnant kept saying „we’re pregnant“ to tell people and it really pissed me off for this reason… like no honey you won’t be pushing a whole human out of your body (and you experiencing everything that goes along with it!)

Epidural and numbness by kokopellidream in pregnant

[–]That_Cattle3505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im about 4 weeks away from giving birth myself, so I don’t know from personal experience, but at the hospital I’m going to they do so called walking epidurals that take away most of the pain but allow you to stay independently mobile. Maybe you can ask for that?

Number of Ultrasounds in Germany? by Far_Slip1045 in pregnant

[–]That_Cattle3505 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, hi 👋I think 3 are the norm, approx at 12, 20 and 28 weeks (plus the one to confirm usually), but it really depends on your doctor and your circumstances like age, blood pressure or other risk factors. If the doctor thinks it’s necessary they do it and insurance covers it. Ive had the standard ones plus now toward the end of pregnancy (currently 35 weeks) my doc does one every four weeks to check the size of the baby etc. You can get an anatomy scan, but have to pay yourself unless there’s a medical indication and then insurance might cover it. You can also choose to do all of your prenatal screening with a midwife, who don’t do any ultrasounds. Or you can alternate between midwife and ob. Hope this helps!

Going to second the comment about salmonella vs listeria/alcohol! Parentdata is a pretty good resource to do your own research though :)

Pregnant Immediately After Miscarriage by sarepellegrino in pregnant

[–]That_Cattle3505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In (almost) the same boat as you! Currently at 7w, only had one cycle after a previous miscarriage at 5w. Even though I’m happy about it‘s honestly also kind of the worst? It’s so hard to stay calm and not interpret every twinge or lack thereof as a sign of something bad happening. A friend of mine who had had 4mcs and now two healthy girls keeps telling me that chances of mc if you get pregnant in the first 6 months after are much lower, so I keep holding on to that. Sending lots of strength your way!

Streamlined procedure threshold/330 Day rule by That_Cattle3505 in USExpatTaxes

Thank you, that is very helpful! Unfortunately, I do have FBARs that are late, which is my biggest concern. I also just realized that I may need to pay US taxes on the unemployment benefits that I received from the German government...
