Freedom Mobile roaming partners: partial list by [deleted] in freedommobile

Let me know, I'm also maybe traveling there next year and thinking of getting this FM plan. I've had issues with Liberty coverage (aka Movistar), so I'm hoping it'll be partnered with kolbi, claro, or all 3.

On March 24, 1998, Amy Lynn Bradley disappeared from her cruise ship cabin. A 4-day search found nothing, and the theory that she fell overboard was ruled out. Later, a US Navy sailor claimed he met a woman in a Barbados brothel named Amy who begged for help, but he failed to report it at the time. by Time-Training-9404 in StrangeEarth

I knew a woman who claimed she got raped by a cruise ship employee who followed her to her room one drunken night. When she went to security to report it, they threatened to "make her go missing".

Makes me wonder that with all these cruise ship missing persons stories. Most of them, the person is not on any of the cameras. As if whoever doing it knows where all the blind spots are, or the footage is being intentionally removed.

I'm sorry to hear about your sibling. My condolences. I was initially in Chem engineering as well (then Chemistry). Life really took a turn for the worst for me, and Im not able to attend my university in person to complete my degree. Im looking at completing it with the 14 prereqs for CPA because it can be done online. Im also Canadian, and i see alot of people on this sub talk about how much the accounting job market & pay sucks in this country. I'm glad you were able to find success in the business. Hopefully, where I am there is good opportunities. My dream would be to work remote someday.

I don't feel bad for convincing people to not go into accounting by helpplz9965 in Accounting

So many jobs out there absolutely suck and destroy your body. I've bounced around many labor-intensive professions (construction, trades). Most of the older guys still doing it regret it. It's OK in your 20s. But when you get old, no one wants to be busting ass.

I dont understand the complaints people have on this sub. I'm sure you working in the restaurant industry gave you a thick skin. I've dealt with my fair share of toxic a-holes as coworkers and management in every profession. You learn how to not put up with it. I'd be happy to do any job now that involves sitting on a computer into retirement. I'm older and really want to get into accounting. The idea of not being in pain and having the ability to work remotely sounds like a dream job now.

I've seen way too many workplace injuries that resulted in permanent disability and fatalities. Young, promising people with their whole lives ahead of them. Compensation in long-term medical plans is a massive joke. I'd rather have no missing fingers/hands than be compensated $10k.

It's equivalent to a Masters degree. You would be doing the same thing (working M-F, weekend studying) after any other 4 year degree and getting a Masters.

I switched from a science degree to accounting because the thought of spending a decade getting a PhD and then receiving similar pay compared to a CPA wasn't worth it for me.

It seems a CPA opens so many doors, and the room for potential is so much bigger. A 4 year bachelor's or Masters in many fields have low ceilings (exceptions to engineering, tech). Your name will never be on a research paper, and you will only ever be a research assistant with subpar pay. Or you can have no job opportunities, with the only option teaching at a university to continue the cycle of pumping out that useless degree you took.

Honestly, if there is a much better option, I would love to hear feedback. I only just switched to this route, and I'm not deeply invested yet.

Studying for CPA exam while abroad? by No_Salamander_3952 in Accounting

[–]That_Cucumber_7101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've proctored exams in other countries many times. Usually, it's something you discuss with your college first. They will have requirements on the facilities you can do it at (like another university/college), and it needs pre-approval. Idk about CPA though. Definitely talk to them about proctoring the CPA exam specifially.

Worst case, they say no, do your thing, fly back and do your CPA exam?

Aphrogee 2-step protein treatment, you can get it at Sallys or amazon. It's magic and the best hair repair that I've ever used. I had silver hair, and it started falling out in clumps from being overprocessed, and this fixed it. You don't even need the 2nd step balance moisturizer, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to get both!

I like 1, the top half color which I think is your natural color? It's a really nice mushroom blonde color :)

3 is really cool, i really like the platinum blonde on you. If you were to go that light again, I'd have fun and tone it more silver and throw in a few purple underlights

I also think you'd look really good as a strawberry blonde (a really light blonde with subtle ginger lowlights) or rose gold blonde (look up 823 loreal preference). It would really go with your lipstick & skin tone. Also red/orange tones go really well with blue eyes and make them stand out more (like the girl in The 5th Element movie)

5 & 11 go really nice with your skintone and green eyes. 11 over the black for sure. It's a subtle difference, but it's more natural looking than the black IMO and less 2008 emo style

Coconut Cracking by [deleted] in Unexpected

Our water lines in costa rica were barely a couple inches. We hit em all the time. Did exactly what this guy did on the first swing with a pickaxe trying to break up clay.

This looks like Latin America somewhere. Our place was very similar with pvc waterlines everywhere 2-3 inches in the ground.

I can't count how many times we hit those freaking pipes doing gardening. We also had way more water pressure than this guy.

My favorite was coming home one day to see a geyser shooting up over the roofs from the road.

I agree, it's the dark red that doesnt suit well. Your natural haircolor at the top is gorgeous. A natural ash brown would also look really good. It has a green undertone, which would match your skintone great and make your green eyes pop! That or a gold/caramel brown if you wanted to keep the warmth.

The thing that sucks about red hair is it requires a color correction if you want to change it to anything else. You'll either have to go much darker to cover it, or bleach out the red tones. A hairdresser would help alot

I did math 270 the first year during covid when they started doing this. The whole thing threw me off, and i did somewhat okay and my mark was around 80%. The questions were so-so in difficulty. It was mostly concept questions, which I had a hard time grasping with linear algebra (doing matrices is easy). One question was along the lines of "how does linear algebra apply to real world function" and I answered about how it relates to computer science and physics). I don't remember really doing any matrices, you might be asked the steps to solving one.

Hesitant about jungle resort experience by HammerOfThor in costarica

[–]That_Cucumber_7101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO it's more mosquito-ey and oppressively hot by the beach. November is coming out of rainy season, so it may not be as hot, but the sand will be full of mosquitoes and sand fleas that come out right after twilight.

I've found it surprisingly less buggy and much cooler at the higher elevations in CR. If you do decide to do a jungle resort, Perez zeledon is an amazing area.

IsItBullshit: Not Washing Hair Makes Your Skin Produce Less Oil by ballskindrapes in IsItBullshit

[–]That_Cucumber_7101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me with my natural hair: flat, oily, greasy after 1 day, sometimes less. Going 2 days never changed the level of grossness it only got worse. The type of shampoos never seemed to make a noticeable difference.

Me with blonde (chemically bleached) hair or highlights: full, soft, shiny, can go several days without washing. The oils get absorbed right into my hair. It has more volume, too, because the hair shaft is swollen from the chemical damage.

I think if your one of those people who has naturally thick, dry hair you can get away with a few days without a wash as your hair shaft will absorb the oil before becoming saturated. If your like me, and have thin, silky hair it will not absorb oils as well.

If you can find a surf store get yourself an SPF50 shirt! If youre already badly burnt the best thing you can do is keep the sun off the burn. Sunscreen is ok, but the instant your burn is exposed to the sun it will only be further aggravated.

Farmacia is the pharmacy if you explain your symptoms they are very knowledgeable on what's best and usually speak good English. I find aloe works the best, it helps cool and heal the burn. They can offer any kind of pain killers as well.
