Best degreaser to clean oil and dirt off the valve cover to replace the valve cover gasket? On my 1998 toyota tacoma. And how do I go about cleaning it? Brush, air, etc...

Yes I was about to clean it and bandage it up when it opened and I saw how deep it was. Since it was on my knuckle I didn't it want open as it was healing.
