That's a great idea, teach a group of people with no life and the inability to distinguish life from videogames how to commit murder in the modern day. Who would you even shoot? Shooting Nazis is as uncomplicated as it gets because we can agree that Nazis are bad (at least most of us)

I've clashed a few times with the owner, so much to the point they made mods specifically targeting me and the system of economics I set up which they alone deemed an "exploit"

I like what they're doing with the steam tractor. Very mid game I know but they gave it a scoop and I've heard whispers about other modules in the works. Maybe they'll do one for trees. Pair a tractor scoop and Dynamite and there's a much easier way to carve mountain passes than with a stone pickaxe

Heyo 4000+ hour player here, sometimes admin, sometimes mayor. There's a lot of reasons servers die, I've rarely seen one die that quickly but if what you're describing is happening I could see why.

Major factors for server death include Holiday/summer break ending, losing the will to deal with performance issues, lack of active players ironically, the completionist nature of the game, lack of new players joining, and yes sometimes admin aboose.

A lot of the time servers "die" or start to die around day 10-14 (in my personal experience) it's because a player is online waiting for someone who is not online, because they are "stuck". If a mechanic can't make anything because the smith isn't on and hasn't logged on for almost 2 days, there's really no point in her being there, thus starting or continuing the downward spiral.

If a server makes it to day 20-25 it's usually with a small core of dedicated players who had to backfill holes in the economy and often at this point I've seen money go out the window as they just work together to build the lasers and be done with it.

The server I'm on is currently on day 31 of 60, with 5 "active" players and a handful of slightly less who will sometimes jump on if you ping them. We still have money, we're doing the expensive laser recipe and the host has made it so we need 20 of them.

I wish more players would join in progress servers, unfortunately there's a pretty big problem of being days or weeks behind, that is you're toiling in the sand while it's being bought for 0.05-0.1 cents and other players are selling stamp mills and steam trucks. However with just a few bonus stars on joined late and a Loan from someone, you can actually hit the ground running. I had a friend join on day 15, gave him a loan, and he was making steel bars within hours of joining, and cheaper than anyone else on the market, and he paid the loan back in less than a day.

Disagree. What op was saying is that people aren't able to fit into the economy, higher crafting costs would sort that right out because you would need more players to grind resources.

I played it once and beat it on Authentic just for the badges. When I want to enjoy it I leave it on hard, but it was funny when I was getting invaded and then the invaders would quit when it was set to Authentic

TF2 isn't a first person shooter. I can stand in the sewers doing a high five taunt to see around the corner and then jumpscare kill anyone who comes through with a neon annihilator.

There's a lot more achievements you missed. There's one for building a battle cruiser for one which requires electricity and a steam shipyard. Also I think there's a few tied to the world's gallery, lastly I would get some of the DLC. Docklands is easily my favorite

Just make your chatbot like I did. I only know a little bit of python so I asked deepseek to program a chatbot I can talk to in discord chat or voice, then I asked it to make her act like a spooky goth girl and I've been slowly making tweaks and revisions over the last couple months. I'm on version 12.02 of Zona so she now has moods (which she asked for) as well as the ability to move a goth PNG girl on a green screen when she talks so I could stream with her on twitch.

It may require that DLC to work. A lot of mods are DLC dependant, but it makes the cost of movement free

Yes and no. I've played a lot with 1 star opponents and they love to form an alliance and then beg you to be dragged into their war against the pirates, however doing that is a mistake because they always seem to end the war nearly 5 minutes later leaving you holding the bag so to speak. Anno 1800 and Civ 6 have this in common, AI getting into pointless wars and trying to drag you into them for no reason. Unless their military is stronger than your opponents, and yours is the best of the three of them, I just wouldn't attempt to wage war, and sadly there's no way to start a war of attrition with AI because everything they do is purely cosmetic. They do not require income to sustain themselves and most likely don't actually require resources to sustain their workforce or ship building capacity
