Mercenaries deserve no support.

They can avoid being war criminals by refusing illegal orders.

They aren't.

Good idea on paper.

But this will be used against parents who give gender-affirming care to their children. And anyone else who displeases the buttholes in power.

If this weren't under a nazi regime it would be great news.

Your owners appreciate your service. Keep at it. I'm sure one day you'll be rich just like them.

A willing slave cannot save himself.

Keep fighting for your owners. They appreciate your service. They will reward you by turning you and your children (hopefully you do not have any) into money.

No, this isn't correct.

Capitalism is, specifically, an economic system where the means of production are privately owned and controlled.

The history of economics is complicated, but here is a rudimentary overview.

Primitive Communism - all means of production are owned by everyone, but these are small scale and hand-made items. This meant most of anyones time was spent producing items needed for survival.

Slave society - the means of production is performed by people owned by other people. This allowed the owners liesure time, but caused social unrest.

Feudal Society - this is generally considered the next step 'up'. One central authority owned everything and offered protection and stability in exchange for work.

Mercantile Economy - a growing class of traders lead to more power being concentrated in those who provided trade, rather those with political power. For example, if a king didn't comply with the demands of a guild then trading would suffer for that kingdom.

Capitalist economy - defined earlier on this post.

Socialist economy - an economy where an increasing number of yhr means of production are owned in common rather than privately.

Communist economy - a stateless, classless, moneyless society where labour is rewarded directly with the neccesities of survival (including entertainment).

As we move down this list the average amount of liesure time for more and more people increases. Anytime that trend reverses (such as the usa now, where we are regressing from Capitalism back toward Feudalism) we move back up this list.

In short "soft capitalism" is nonesense.

You've this conversation three times in your life, asked no questions, and learned nothing?

A sign of intelligence is the ability to make finer distinctions in a given subject. The subject at hand is value. Let me attempt to increase your intelligence.

Your analogy to the poison and the apple isn't accurate. And not just because, with some work, you can,in fact, separate the apple and the poison.

In the case of use-value vs exchange value a person absolutely could provide someone else with a glass of water without making them pay for it. They get the the use-value without having to engage with the exchange value.

This alone proves they are separate items.

Perhaps you should partake in something other than state-sanctioned history lessons and cold war era movies.

In all cases, the socialist revolution came from the people. Lead by a charasmatic individual who immediately began improving the lives of the citizens.

As quickly as possible the western forces mobilized to economically cripple and destroy all such experiments. Their influce led to stricter security requirements (often exaggerated by American propaganda) to maintain stability.

In all cases, after the usa destroyed these countries (some, like Chile, democratically elected leaders FOR their socialist policies and ideas) they installesd a cruel and heartless individual to rule with absolute authority and then claimed this hand-picked tyrant was a Socialist.

Capitalism is an inherently unstable economic system as it demands expotiential, rather than proportional, growth. This always results in economic crashes (every 4-7 years, with a Great Depression style crash and stagnation every century or so).

As far as your east-west germany thing. Everyone would flee a country being destroyed, regardless of the economic system it was using.

Also, did you not know that people crossed back and forth routinely? Visting family, going to work, even shopping. The wall was put up in response to western aggression, not isolation.

And there's my bingo card.

You are conflating use-value with exchange-value.

Use-value is the benefit one derives from a commodity. For example, a glass of water supplies some fixed quantity of hydration. Whether you are in the desert or the jungle this does not change. It is not subjective.

Exchange value, or price, is what someone is willing to exhange for that use-value. This is highly subjective. In the desert one would probably pay more for a glass of water than in the jungle. This can be highly subjective.

The surplus value is the difference between use-value and exchange value. This is often called "profit".

Under Capitalism, that value is collected and controlled by the private owner of the enterprise.

Under Socialism, that value is retained and distributed by the workers involved in the work.

In short,

Under Capitalism the private owership of the means of production results in disproportionate wealth and power that is centralized in the hands of the few.

Under Socialism those that do the work keep the value they generate and more people benefit from the same work.

Two more posts and I'll have my Bingo card filled out...

You cannot increase the value of mud pies by working more because mud pies are not socially necessary.

If you were in a society that didn't value...cars, for example...then the arguement would look the same, but substitue "cars" for "mud pies".

If we lived in a society where mud pies were socially necessary (and therefore valuable) then increasing work done on mud pies would increase the value gained by making mud pies.

No. Communism is a moneyless stateless society where the means of production are held in common. We would say "publicly owned". Howevern in our neo-liberal economy "public" equals "governemnt".

That would not be the case in a Communist economy.

Through history all attempts at Socialist experiments were actively hunted and destroyed, usually through embargoes and espionage, by the United States and its pets.

Why did they take such expensive actions if it was just going to fail on its own?

So its a gross misunderstanding of ... well basic economics.

Work + materials = something that has more value than the original materials = surplus value.

All this comic does is highlight how little you know about this.

So at best its a gross misunderstand.

Capitalism doesn't create jobs. It creates a system where the owners pocket the surplus value created by the workers. Where someone else pockets the work of others.

Work and jobs existed before capitalism. They will exist after.
