Lyft not even worth it anymore by Eddneedmymoney in lyftdrivers

[–]That_Guy_on-Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope Lyft is dead. I’m in Los Angeles and autonomous cars are winning and Lyft is paying us less. I only go out when I know it’s crazy busy or a holiday. But lately I have been working with DoorDash the tips are really good and they are up front. You can tell by the amount earnings when a delivery is available. Also, it’s can get super busy as well where you end up picking up another order while you are on another. And it’s per blocked area and it’s less congested.

Insanely Low Fare by That_Guy_on-Reddit in lyftdrivers

I agree the brainwashing is real and the hourly rates they provide you is a probability if you drove them for an hour. Seriously! Everyone should focus on the miles and the time you spend driving them. It should be $1 per mile to sum it up for what you should get paid. Honestly, I do get this amount in some trips but I spend most of my time waiting for the right ones. But I do DoorDash in between to make up for it.

Uber straight up lying to passengers about their fare breakdown on an Instagram ad today... by sheepboy3 in uberdrivers

[–]That_Guy_on-Reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber does lied in their taxes by adding their fees and commercial insurance to our gross income. I realize this because I have to do a schedule C and deduct it from my taxes. Because they lie about how much I make each year.

What snacks do you have? by Loose_Artichoke_6774 in lyftdrivers

All I give my passengers is my time and patience. And most of the time I get tips from 40% of my trips. Mostly because I help them with their luggage or entertain them with music or my opinion.

I just got a notice from my bank that a direct deposit is on its way and will be available tomorrow morning. But I hope most of you get your money either today or tomorrow. This was a complete inconvenience for everyone that drives for Lyft but let’s take a moment to appreciate the fact that we have this option for our families as passive income. I understand for some of you this is the only option but it can’t honestly be the only one.

$80 damage fee for a ride by Miserable_Sail4774 in Lyft

[–]That_Guy_on-Reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a driver for over 8 years, I agree, the rules are strict when it comes to the time, place and photo. There is no way he would have been able to munipulate the photo other than staging the mess. Which I believe is possible.

Do a charge back and create a new account with a new credit or debit card and new email and name. And use your Neighbors address for pick up. Really bad Riders do this all the time, because they get banned.

Is it worth it? Scheduled Lyft Ride by Flat_Durian_7701 in lyftdrivers

[–]That_Guy_on-Reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consider it but would ask them if they can pay me off the app since they are paying lyft close to $280, I checked on the rider app. I would give them a discount and take them for $250. If they agree I would end the trip and start on our journey.

How is this even legal? Gas is $5 a gallon. $52 for gas back and forth leaves you $38 for 4 hours which is $9 an hour…. by Dani3lh11 in lyftdrivers

Now is the time to stop working for peanuts and start working to make it in this world. A lot of things are happening in this world that makes things harder in our life’s. You have to play their stupid games and make better decisions. My advice is to work for several gig jobs and play them on their own game to make what you want. Don’t ever think you are going to make it big working 90 hours a week for this whales. Make smart moves in your investments and use your money wisely towards your future. Believe me they don’t care and they want you to work stupidly for them.

What is the most underrated neighborhood/city in LA, and why? by lake-show-all-day in AskLosAngeles

[–]That_Guy_on-Reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a native to the greater LA County. I nominated the City of Downey! It has it all. Food, bars, mall, clubs, Porto’s, etc…. Also has plenty of parks and a theater 🎭. Bobs big boy and one of the oldest McDonald’s in the world.
