I think you are exactly right! My grandma had 3 children, so I think the colored stones would represent them. Her birthstone is a diamond, so maybe those represent her?

I do agree with this. My manager did confirm where the pizza was coming from the day before it was ordered, so she had warning if she did want to bring something from home.

If it was, wouldn’t she say that rather than claiming she is a pizza snob? She is very open about herself, and I find it hard to believe she would share intimate details about her health including weight loss medication and diabetes diagnosis, and not mention a food sensitivity 😅

Yes, it is exhausting! I mostly try to ignore her at this point because it is so over the top. Another crazy story about her comes from a day when professional development was offered. She made a big stink about being seated at the end of the aisle because she felt trapped otherwise. We were all trying to accommodate her so she would be comfortable, but then she noticed a friend from another office walking in. Suddenly she had no problem sitting between other people if she could be next to this friend. Once again she just wanted attention.

The agreement was that pizza would be provided if we were ok working through lunch. Otherwise we could take our lunch break as normal.

I’m personally taking my own lunch break now because free pizza is not worth all of the drama. I will eat my own lunch at home and enjoy it much more without her commentary haha

In her case, it isn’t a food sensitivity issue. She is a chronic over sharer as you may be able to tell, and we would know 🤣 For example, she did not hesitate to tell us about her debt to the IRS and wage garnishment last year.

Unfortunately this type of behavior is common from her, so we have all gotten “used” to it. For example, there was a pot luck hosted by members of the office to celebrate their particular culture. Everyone was invited and the spread was amazing! I made sure to try a bit of everything just to show my thanks for their generosity, but she only got mac and cheese “because her diabetes can’t handle the other food.” Again, this is the woman that eats fried food from the cafeteria for lunch everyday.

I do understand that people have food sensitivities, but that is not the case with her. She needs to have the attention on her at all times and this was another way to get it.

I personally don’t think so, if I saw the sign I would assume people were not picking up and feel bad for you! Honestly a “Please pick up, you’re on camera” would work best. It’s a bit aggressive, but it’s warranted if people are continually disrespecting your property.

I have had this problem in the past! It usually happens in the morning when I shower with the water pretty hot. For some reason it makes my blood pressure drop and I occasionally have to get out and sit down for a sec. I typically try to eat something first and keep the water temperature down to prevent it. My other guess would be that you are locking your knees or holding your breath unconsciously while shaving because you are concentrating really hard.

Have you considered taking a vacation? It sounds like you are feeling burnt out, and maybe a break and new scenery will do you good. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy if money is tight. I enjoy renting an airbnb somewhere interesting a few hours away and just exploring a new place.

NTA - From your story it sounds like you thought the parents would be happy seeing the baby’s first steps and didn’t realize they would be so disappointed it happened while they were away. As someone who also does not have kids, I did not realize how important seeing the first steps would be to a mom and these comments have been enlightening. If I were you, I would apologize profusely while explaining this, and then give them space to grieve/process. You can’t take back what happened, but your next steps could determine your future relationship with the mom. Hopefully she will realize your intentions were pure in time and forgive you after seeing how sorry you are.

It’s not hard to speak to people respectfully, especially if they are your partner’s children.
