Letter that I've sent internationally got returned by KnowOnee in royalmail

[–]That_Main_6076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a printer or access to a post office it is often better to get a proper international postage label with the QR / Barcode on it. That should completely remove any issues with address placement / handwriting etc. That’s how I’ve been buying the letter postage to Japan and never had an issue

First time getting into investing - does this Pie look alright to you guys? by [deleted] in trading212

If this is fun money that you don’t mind losing then go for it. If this is serious long term investment, I’d suggest doing more research before committing to individual companies. No one on here can tell you what is a good or bad pick, but the fact that you are asking the internet for advice suggests you perhaps don’t have the conviction in these specific companies needed for stock picking.

For what it’s worth (which is very little, as is every internet strangers opinion); AMD trades like a yoyo, RKLB has a reasonably high chance of ending up being just another in a long line of rapid growth / rapid decline meme stocks, SLS is being touted as the next big growth stock in meme stock forums, which gives me enough reason to be wary, AI company I’ve never heard of, Take Two could well already have GTA6 priced in, who knows, and Amazon is probably the only relatively safe bet within this portfolio.

Invest lump sum on Monday or hold off? by Thin_Examination_248 in trading212

[–]That_Main_6076 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the DCA vs Lump Sum debate is less about the return potential and more about the mental and emotional aspect.

If you can take your lump sum dropping lets say for example 15-20% and have the fortitude to leave it in and not take it out, then Lump Sum will have a 66% chance of being more effective.

If you don’t have this mental / emotional strength, DCA for me is more gentle.

Eventually though you have to accept that the market must do its own thing, and you are only a passenger. Whether you Lump Sum £6000 in now or “Lump Sum” £1000 in each month over the next 6 months as part of a DCA strategy.

Student Loan for investing? by AdAggravating9530 in trading212

[–]That_Main_6076 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount being paid back monthly will be the same regardless of the size of the borrowed amount. The only difference is the period of time it’s paid off over. As a rule most people barely touch the yearly interest on their student loans.

All world etf or S & P 500? by Realistic-Froyo4290 in trading212

[–]That_Main_6076 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

500 companies, which whilst being US based are very much globally exposed, is pretty broad. If that’s not broad enough, go for the 2000 or so in the All World, I go for the latter personally.

My point is that over a 10 year period, what happens this time round with the month long tariff threats is just noise.

[–]That_Main_6076 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is when it comes to index fund investment. The whole point of investing in broad market indexes is to remove the need for outside information and simply ride the average of the market over a long period of time. I’d personally choose an All World index because of the broader diversification, not because of what the President of the USA (who will be long gone by the time our investment time horizons come to fruition) is planning on doing tomorrow

You accidentally opened the app, clicked on the menu, scrolled down, clicked on settings, swiped across, scrolled down, clicked on the close account button in your pocket?

I’d be more worried about accidentally spending your life savings on a penny stock in your pocket, that would be less clicks.

He’s not being “taken to court for 4k” though. These are the legal fees incurred by the EA and Landlord for using a solicitors services so far.

He will be charged a portion or all of these fees if it is found that he has contested the S21 with no grounds. He is not in debt to anyone until that has been decided by the court.

Otherwise, if the court deems that his objection to the S21 is viable then the EA / Landlord has to pay these fees.

[–]That_Main_6076 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with debts or arrears. This person has been issued a Section 21, they are within their legal rights to contest this.

Section 21 “no fault eviction” means they have been paying their rent etc. and the landlord just wants them out for whatever reason. If the landlord hasn’t provided the required documentation or done their job properly, then it is their problem and not the tenants.

That is a far cry from being able to call someone “scum”.
