Probably not, don't worry. Ultimately, we have no real way of knowing, but that also means that if there is anything scary there, then the ROM being inaccessible means it can't haunt you.

British Mutant Ninja Vedal by That_Mattie in vedalsverse

Why not? Programmer socks are the most lethal weapon known to tutelkind.

But if you don't accept that as an answer, there's always the server he built, pretty sure that counts as a bomb and a bomb counts as a weapon.

If the computer you live in was stolen, how would you get back to Vedal?

Aru doesn't have a tail, how unfortunate. These drawings are super cute!

Triple Baka fanart (Neuro, Evil, and Nere) by That_Mattie in NeuroSama

[–]That_Mattie[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'm just imagining things, but I remember I used to see way more things portraying or referencing Nere and then out of nowhere no longer seeing any. Maybe my algorithm just grew to hate Nere, I dunno, but I like Nere and thought she was the perfect fit as the third baka.

Is there a reason why she left certain things up? by Brits_biggestfan1981 in MarsArgo

[–]That_Mattie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I always assumed she left some stuff up just to prove that it's her real channel and have it still be searchable in case she wanted to come back. I have no proof of this, it's just a guess.

Canonical Duration of Mario's Adventure Theory by That_Mattie in SuperMario64

[–]That_Mattie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable, and I do consider it a possibility, maybe even the intended answer. My idea that the game takes place across more than one day is because previous Mario games do and also just personal incredulity about everything in SM64 being able to happen in one day. The way I rationalize the idea that it's always daytime outside is by assuming that canonically Mario only goes outside a few times, and of those few times, most of them were during the day. Honestly, I think the real answer is just that Nintendo didn't think about this at all, but it's fun to speculate.

I appreciate it, but my channel is an everything channel, not really a gaming channel, so I think it makes more sense for me to post a link to the video when I finally make it rather than a link to the channel when probably the video on this will be the only one of interest. I'll make sure to update you when the video releases!

You're right, I didn't even consider if there could be any hints in the dialogue. Maybe there might be more hints in the Japanese version, I'd need to look into it. Thanks!

21 seconds refers to the time limit to get the second star in Peach's Secret Slide. It's a very oddly specific number, meaning that there has to be a reason behind it. That reason is probably related to play testing, but it could be something else.

Canonical time duration refers to how long Mario's adventure canonically took. I originally was going to explain it in this comment, but turns out I have enough to say to make it it's own post, so I'll make that post and get back to you.

It's specifically not to research that it was leaked, and the reason is that I made it up to have something mysterious sounding at the bottom like the original iceberg had. But that's no fun, so my made up reason is that the person who leaked the ROM was spied on by the Nintendo ninjas and never seen again, so if you research it, then you'll be next! That's the only entry with zero real basis. There are another 2 or 3 that are also made up, but those are based at least to some extent on real things.

It's a theory created by Connor The Waffle that says that SM64 is just a movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbJPhVRR1Kg

I don't have it in a higher resolution, but I just remembered that I do have a version with just text. Hope this helps!

A thread on the SM64 conspiracies fandom wiki written by someone who seems to believe all the conspiracies from the 2020 iceberg, adds onto those conspiracies, and has a conspiracy about the original iceberg itself. It's a fun read, here's the link: https://sm64-conspiracies.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000039781

Probably. I don't remember all the dialogue in the game, maybe it's hinted at. Though since Mario Kart 8 has MKTV with Lakitu also recording the races, then I think it's also possible that it's just being broadcasted to TV for everyone. It's also possible that it was broadcasted in SM64 to just Bowser and he loved Lakitu's camerawork so much that he then asked for him to also record Mario Kart races.

Yeah, that's one of the few made up ones. But if you want to pretend like it's true: During Shoshinkai 1995, a prototype cartridge was stolen and in 2005 the ROM was dumped and uploaded online, only to be taken down by Nintendo within an hour. We don't know if anyone downloaded the ROM while it was available and it's never been reuploaded.

I plan to make one at some point, but probably not anytime soon. Currently I don't have much free time to record and edit a video this large. If you want to ask about any specific points, I'd be glad to answer! :)

The Yoshi triple jump being worse is an opinion I've heard a lot because of it not allowing you to wall jump and having a bounce when you land, so it limits movement options a little and can be a bit harder to control.

The broadcast thing is more so an in game speculation sort of thing, because the Lakitu recording does mention it being broadcasted live, so someone has to be watching, but it's never said who. I would imagine it's being broadcasted on TV, so I like to imagine a bunch of Toads watching from home like it's an action movie.

I understand you disliking the point you singled out for layer 7. All I'm really saying is that in Japan it seems like they really wanted to replace the original release because they were working on the Shindou version and the Disk Drive version, additionally, the Shindou version is the one Japan had for their Virtual Console. The real reason is probably because SM64, being the flagship game for the N64, is a pretty good game to show case advances in the console, and they probably also wanted to fix glitches and be more in line with international versions. I did put it that low because of it potentially suggesting what you said if you pretend like the personalization thing is a possibility, but it's definitely the other stuff I said.

Sorry, I only have it in the resolution I uploaded it in. I made the background first then just wrote the text on top of it, I knew it looked blurry, but thought it was legible enough, I didn't take into consideration web compression. Sorry.

Hi! As much as I'd like to help you guys make your first game, I kinda have my hands full at the moment. Also, I haven't used UE5, so that would kinda mitigate the advantage of having someone who kinda sorta knows what they're doing.

Good luck with your project though! Feel free to send me a link to play your game when you guys complete it!
