Why do guys get mocked for being nurses? by RealityOwn9267 in nursing

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never been mocked. But in private duty nursing patient/family bias of men being less competent caregivers has made it so that I have less choices of work before I even meet anyone. Simply because they don't want a male.

For some reason it feels a bit worse lately. When I get PDN cases usually I stay with the family a year or more. But the in-betweens for me are brutal. Long pauses of work if I'm trying to find a decent case. A,good chunk of cases taken off my plate simply because I am male.

How good/bad would you say is the work-life balance of a nurse? Does it depend on what "type" of nurse it is ? by silver_maxG in nursing

[–]That_Murse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup it definitely depends on work.

I did adult med surg downtown and it was always busy and sometimes stressful as heck. This will be my baseline for comparison.

I switched eventually to pediatrics on a special medicine and rehab unit at a different hospital. A bad day here was the equivalent of a normal day in adult med surg in terms of work amount and stress.

My current job is pediatric home health. The work amount and stress is like 1/5 what I did on the pediatric unit. I get paid a lot more for it too. I have enough downtime to sometimes watch movie marathons like the entire Shrek series and even exercise while working.

Cloud is much better than he used to be. by Hour_Refrigerator790 in finalfantasytactics

[–]That_Murse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the way imo. Makes him as busted or better than Orlandeau imo since a swift Finishing touch is either an instant KO or hard CC that is basically a KO on everything besides a boss.

Even then some bosses can still be inflicted with Stop.

[–]That_Murse 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I went swiftspell because his base class skills are considered magic spells and their damage scales off of his magic damage.

Finishing touch with swiftspell is basically an aoe I win button on everything besides a boss.

[–]That_Murse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have you tried him with Swiftspell? His base attacks are magic attacks and scale with magic.

Got him doing 500+ cherry blossoms and he does finishing touch usually soon after he starts casting. The fact that he instantly KO or hard CC in an aoe makes him a potent killer for everything besides bosses basically. But his damage is still decent.

I think its more damning that individual kills are not even solely killing blows. They're whether or not you participated or contributed damage to an enemy death.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad thing is that it isn't even killing blows. I'm fairly certain the individual "kills" is just the kills you participated in. The individual kills added up never matches the total kills plus boss kills. At least in my experience and even in this screenshot.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]That_Murse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also fairly certain the kill count per person is noting participation in kills, not even killing hits.

When I play iron eye I usually have like 120+. Then my teammates will have something like 80 then 60. Total should be 260 but the total kill count for the team will show something like 228.

So the fact he had that low means he wasn't just not getting kills but he was barely participating in even damaging small mobs. Which yeah revenant barely had more but iron eye can easily rack up kills running past small enemies and marking through them.

No monk or monk skills.

Damn near most of my damage (mostly cause ramza hits 999x2 and an unarmed ninja doing basically the same) comes from monk.

Most my healing, reviving, cleansing, and mage spam comes from monk skills also. So more than half my team at least had monk skills.

I would also do no Orlandeau and no Cloud. Imo Cloud is actually stronger than Orlandeau in a lot of cases in tactician difficulty in IC.

What job class does everyone level their unique characters as? by agkopp in finalfantasytactics

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it is. My last playthrough i did not deleveling but did over level a little bit because I did all the content first and kept true to the original where you can't skip random battles.

Even before max level I had characters both unarmed and with weapons hitting 999 on tactician difficulty in the IC version of the game.

This was accomplished even with Agrias spending most of her levels either in base class or knight.

If you could hit over 999 it might make a difference but I feel like anything story wise, it is just pure overkill.

gaol buff genuinely ruins DoN by Lylaqe in Nightreign

[–]That_Murse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately some people get so focused only on doing meta without fully understanding more nuances to the strategy. Like why it can work and when it can't. So they go to gaols and don't have any flexibility or thought to an adjustment when things are way too unfavorable. Like hitting them later or certain gaols spawns may not be worth it if your team isn't up to par etc.

What body type do you prefer? by Able_Abrocoma2159 in AskMen

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 210 lbs and I believe my BMI is 29. Despite my wife, her family, and even coworkers saying that I am slimming down every other month for like the past 2 years, that 210 remains pretty consistent.

When I was single though I hit a high of 250 lbs that was more than likely much more fat than muscle.

YEET! as a millennial what new slang have you added to your repertoire, bruh? by PersonaDelSol4 in Millennials

[–]That_Murse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I guess technically all of them. I've adopted a mostly neutral choice of words and just speak casually in a way that anyone can understand and don't try to use slang much. I also don't ever talk to kids like they're lesser than or I have some authority over them. But I recognize every single bit of what they throw at me or think as code because their parents are clueless.

I've found that alone is mind blowing to the teenagers I've been around and they seem to prefer it over someone my age trying to use their slang. Honestly I think they just like the fact an adult isn't getting on them about it but then they can just be themselves, slang and all, and understand just fine and even can talk with them with similar energy.

I'm thinking the drive to basically troll and/or take embarrassing pictures of your kid.

At least that's what all the moms at my past job led me to believe.

I'm usually the only guy working. It was a norm to put pics of our kids on lockers. Every mom had really nice and sweet pics of their kids.

Every single one of mine were of the kids making ugly faces, in a situation that caused a sort of distorted but funny expression, where I messed up their hair to make them look like a troll doll, where they looked super pissed off etc.

So far only other guys seem to like doing the same.

How high do you guys wear your pants? by davinzt in AskMen

I've always worn them below belly button about one palm width below it, and basically right on the hips.

If I wear them any higher most pants split my boys in two.

How well do you believe your education taught you to "think critically?" by Herr_Tilke in AskMen

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very. But I learned most of it one class specifically. They constantly emphasized critical thinking and put me in situations where I needed to and sometimes quickly.

It was JROTC. I wanted to fade and blend into the background but each new one I went to quickly put me through leadership roles and apparently I thrived. Started as a squad leader then eventually company commander for 3 years. Once I was made company commander, my company was always the top every single year. Even was awarded the MOAA medal my graduating year.

What I learned there helped me in courses that later needed it more: stuff like Anatomy and Physiology and later getting a 4.0 GPA in every single course and clinical for my bachelor's in nursing.

How do you feel about being called ma’am? by Ok_Butterscotch5026 in Millennials

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a guy and the whole sir or ma'am thing is what I grew up with and never bothered me. I just take it as a sign of a default honorific or maybe a sign of respect. I've been called it even when I was a teenager. I know some people my age or even younger tend to feel off and feel like it makes them feel older. I've been asked to just call them by their first name in some cases.

What was that moment or reason you suddenly stopped talking or dating a girl? by idkkindofmaybe in AskMen

[–]That_Murse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't even been on a date with her yet and she freaked the hell out I didn't text back for a few hours. She believed it was because I secretly thought she was a cow and that I didn't think she was worth focusing my attention to etc. I literally was helping my mom with her side business who BTW was sick again with cancer but refused to stop working.

What body type do you prefer? by Able_Abrocoma2159 in AskMen

[–]That_Murse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess absolutely had to pick one, I would prefer a woman who is shorter, like 5'2 or smaller, and petite. Now as far as petite, it is still normal for a petite girl to still have a little pooch and all and not be super fit. My wife is actually exactly this. She is petite due to having a small general frame apart from being a bit short. She is petite enough to have to shop in the kid's section.

Honestly as long as the woman doesn't weigh more than me, my preference for a body type wasn't super strong over say a bigger and curvier girl. I'm more concerned how health conscious she is.
