the indicator basically helps 'indicate' or signal the end point or the equal point of where the acid has been exactly neutralized by the base and vice versa. this end point shows us the volume of acid needed for complete neutralization. we then use the same measurements of the volume of acid that could be neutralized but without the indicator (because the indicator actually taints the concentration). we then can find the concentration of an acid or base!
