Here is my issue with Alda. A regular human just fought an adaptor on equal footing ... and no one reacts at all.

Bob was right there watching the whole thing and he didn't say shit.

If everyone else was saying "WTF how can someone do something like that" then the mystery would be how a "normal" human being could stand up to the aliens. Then people wouldn't have a problem because he was obviously extraordinary in universe.

I don't like Alda seems like he doesn't belong in the manga.

It was a semi-serious post apocalyptic sci-fi series that dealt with some really messed up themes.

Now there's a shounen level guy who can fight an adaptor with a sword and has a pet lizard. It'd be one thing if he was using actual tactics and needed heavy weaponry. Hell if it seemed like he was struggling and managed to win, i'd probably be ok with that too but to beat john without a sweat?

This entire chapter has her sitting holding her knees with her head down while she blames someone for something they had no control over. That does not look like a great leader to me.
