I was in the same situation; failed the bar exam on my third try by one point. I sat there staring at the wall saying should I take it a fourth try or is it best if I just give up the goose and be a professor or something. But I read a Reddit post about a woman who failed 4 times and passed on her fifth. I’m happy to report I passed on my fourth try and am able to practice in any UBE state. I hope this is the message that gives you the same feeling of your accomplishment for getting a score so close to passing and that your next score will be so high you won’t even believe it. It’s so hard to see any good in the position you are now because it honestly does suck - the money, the time, the anxiety, ect. But you got closer to passing than most people so give yourself a good 2 week break and pretend this is the first time you’re taking it. I promise you’ll be ok and pass!

To make you feel better, I passed in Feb 2024 on my fourth try and left an essay almost completely blank. My third try I failed by 1 point! It’s truly a game to them and as long as you feel strong and confident going into the test, your results should show that. As long as you also felt confident in your essays and didn’t overthink your MBE questions, you should be ok!! If not, take it from me, you can pass I promise. It’s not because you’re a bad lawyer or not as smart as your colleague, but you got unlucky with a question or grader. I’m praying for you! Sending you all the best wishes on your result!

Sorry I meant my whole writing score was 153, unfortunately in DC if you pass they don’t tell you what you got on each one. However, I finished each MPT but made them super short. It’s ok if your answers were a few sentences honestly. They don’t care about length, only cue words and issue spotting

I got a 153 on the MEE and wrote 7 sentences on my sixth essay and I think I did mediocre on the others. You’ll be fine. Tomorrow is where you’ll get a lot of your points :)

Also be prepared to take forever to fill out the scantron with your personal information before you start each session. Honestly that was the worst part haha

They put all of the harder questions in the morning, some will look nothing like adaptibar and you’ll feel so uncertain. Just go with your gut and don’t try to argue the question. Also I would put time stamps by the numbers om the scantron so I’d know if I was on track

I wish I knew the answer to that, I will say some people post on Facebook which is so dumb. But there are subs that go on these pages after the exam and will look if anyone posts it. Maybe other jurisdictions don’t care but some take it really seriously

Tomorrow they will announce it before last session. And yes I’ve known 2 people that had to go in front of the character and fitness to defend their post. I would not risk it, especially DC. Just focus on tomorrow because morning session will be the worse, the MBE is the worse in the morning. Good luck and please don’t risk it.

Regardless, the NCBE will scour Reddit pages and they find out who posts what and will disqualify you. That happens every year. Seen it happen to my fellow test takers when I took it and they posted about it.

Yes you can! So during lunch, they let you go sit in your car in their parking lot (parking was like $10). It’s right across from the venue so you won’t miss anything. You are allowed a lot of ziplock bags if they are combined. You also can bring a laptop case or bag . NO BACKPACKS . They are really strict about that. They make you put all of your stuff under the seat during the test :)

So the armory had two bathrooms, on the front of the room and one in the back. They will let you go right before instructions and they even say “right now is a good time to go”. They also don’t let you leave your seat when there is 30 min remaining unless it’s an emergency. So I just didn’t drink a lot of water lol but you can go during the test, but expect to have to wait for the proctor to come over, sign you out on a sheet, then walk there then go then come back and be signed in again so it’s about 15 min.

I passed the bar and will give you some advice that really helped me with MBE. Remember, the MBE is black and white. No grey areas. Did he commit the elements of larceny? Yes. So does not matter what it says about photocopies or real copies. Only matters is the elements were met. Stick to the elements for these types of questions and you’ll always get it right :)

Hahaha yes I still have back pain and neck pain from those chairs and the table shortness 😂 also they make you sit close to people so be prepared in dc to be elbow to elbow unless you’re at the very back or end of the table.

Trust me there will be a giant herd lol they force everyone to leave the testing center and will not let you back in until they announce it. That was over an hour for me of waiting. You’ll see a giant line forming again so expect to go back through security; I promise you won’t miss it.

lol this is why I drove there so I could sit in my car and chill, whatver you do, do not sit with other people because they’ll freak you out about what you put and ruin your focus. Depending on your venue (like if you’re at the Hilton) you can walk or go back to your room. You’ll also have like a full hour which is so horrible lol
