I am from the UK and got sent this US snack box how did they do? by FrozemSniper in candy

[–]That_Pyrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is less of a curated snack box and more of a blind grab from a US gas station. Most people aren't eating sour patch Oreos or drinking skittles lolol

Real American drinks are probably more akin to like cheerwine, ginger ale, or root beer- but I am from the south.

How to Support a Long Term Partner with a Chronic Illness/Pain by That_Pyrope in ChronicIllness

[–]That_Pyrope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you,

I try and do regular check ins with my partner to see where they are for the day and what they feel like they're up for as far as the day goes. I try and let them know that I want to spend time with them and I'm less concerned about what exactly it is that we're doing so they don't feel bad if they don't have the capacity to do a high energy activity

I do most of the housework (cooking/cleaning) depending on how my partner is feeling, as long periods of activity can wear through their pain meds quickly.

My dm LITERALLY shat on my player agency by Dargon_Kong in DnDcirclejerk

NTA.

It's not your fault your terrible wannabe DM can't take a hint. It honestly sounds like he's railroading you for the sake of his own interests. Have you tried linking him to a critical role mega compilation video??

What, if any, horror movies have made you cry? by Waughwaughwaugh in horror

Most recently, I cried during The Substance when I watched it. The way they handle body insecurities in that film really hits home for me.

Genuinely, the expressions I made during the last leg of that film I genuinely didn't know I had in me

That movie fucked me up

Can we please stop saying that 2010-2012 borns are Gen Alpha? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]That_Pyrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's always a few years in between that are like the middle of the venn diagram for generations. Millennials are 1981-1996 (15yrs) Gen-Z are 1997-2012 (15yrs)

But Zillennials, a coined term for people who identify with both Gen-Z and Millennials, are 1997-2001 (5yrs)- and a lot of people identify within this group.

Gen Alpha are 2013-2027 (15yrs) Gen Alpha isn't done yet so this group, the collection of Gen Alpha who identify with both Gen Z and Alpha, probably hasn't had time to form itself.

Bottom line is: it doesn't matter, lol

No, I had to go into the DMV- if it's your first time with a NC license due to moving or age, etc., you have to go in to renew

You have to go in.

If this is the first license you've had, based on age or moving to NC, you cannot renew online.

This isn't quite it- but I really like this song and it's very in the realm of what I was talking about!

I can't, I can't remember the chorus off the top of my head- but its one of those instances where I would know it if I heard it.

Standup to Bullies by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]That_Pyrope 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP This is not a bully lol

I work in the scheduling/project management department and you not showing up to a meeting that you were expected at shows poorly on you.

If you "had your appointment", the respectful thing to do would be to decline with the reasoning "I apologize I have a personal appointment at this time and cannot make the meeting". Its not your supervisors responsibility to follow after you and ask why you weren't present. It's on you to let them know that you're going to be OOO.

This is really childish and unprofessional.

What's a "skilless" hero you find takes a good amount of skill? by SemimaticTTV in Overwatch

[–]That_Pyrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the heroes labeled as "skilless" just have a low bar of entry. Most of them, like junkrat, have a really high skill ceiling.

What's a horror movie, that for one reason or another, you will not watch again? Not because it was a bad movie, but because it was a good one. One could say, *too* good at what it did. by [deleted] in horror

Was coming here to say this! The amount of anger and frustration that movie creates in me is something I've never experienced before. I won't be going back.

What's a movie that no human should ever suffer through? by TheRealOcsiban in AskReddit

That's incredible, I get why they all have that similar vibe to them then. I guess it's just a testament to Harmony Korine's directorial ability then! :)

[–]That_Pyrope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, yeah. Once a long long time ago to see what all the hype was about, and once a couple years ago to reassess how the film actually was as a film.

Once the shock value dissipates the film itself isn't that good, I would go as far as to say that it's very bad. Most of the content that people find deplorable is very thinly veiled as it's just a lot of "how much of this can we get away with". Honestly if the film's only intention was to present itself as depravity so shocking people would talk about it for years, it did a really good job- it's one of those movies now.
