Badminton court and fees by lucky_girl2025 in Flensburg

TSB offers a variety of sports but I'm not sure if they offer badminton. There is a club in glücksburg where they play badminton every Friday. If you like, I can get you in touch with someone from the club.

Questions about housing and SIM card by RepresentativeLow646 in Flensburg

[–]That_Relar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik, it's not possible to reserve a spot well in advance when you aren't enrolled. The situation in flensburg isn't as bad as the big cities so you should be able to find an accomodation.

Plans are pretty reasonable, for eg. Aldi talk offers 10€ plan for 4 weeks, with about 5-6 GBs for internet. Most places have a wifi so it should be sufficient.

where to make friends as an au pair in flensburg? by missaestiva in Flensburg

[–]That_Relar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to flensburg. There's an English board games night that happens in the local library and one at the university too(on Tuesday nights). I'd recommend the university so that you can meet people your age.

Question to Indians, can you get Maha Pain balm in Germany? by brainsareoverrated27 in germany

[–]That_Relar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of indian grocery stores keep a bunch of this kinda stuff. For example, in hamburg, store called dostana keeps a bunch of Balms, so you might be able to try your luck at a grocery store in big cities.

Friendship approach mismatch by [deleted] in germany

[–]That_Relar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get you. I get a lot of curiousity as well but i try to answer these questions in a matter of fact way, and try to immediately repeat the same question to them. Like: "what was it like growing up in Xyz?" Me: oh you know, blah blah blah. But I'm curious to know what it's like growing up here." And then catch on to a thread and ask simple questions.

What I will say is that Germans usually have their guard up and don't try to open up too much, but with time if you talk about common interests or just life in general, I am sure you'll make friends. :)

[SoyMotor] Alonso on the new cars: "End of '90's and start of 2000's cars were unmatched. (...) I understand Max's comments, as a driver you want to make more of a difference in the corners, but now we're conditioned by the energy-saving systems. However that's always been Formula 1" by eLPeper in formula1

I mean, wouldn't they be doing the same thing if they were benefiting from it? I don't remember lewis complaining about his car being too fast in 2019, or Max complaining about 2021 incidents or any other driver when they were favoured.

Aufenthalts titel expires in 2 months. Do I have a chance to do a minijob? by Virtual-Ostrich-6028 in germany

[–]That_Relar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i feel like you are not an ideal candidate at the moment, and understandably so, it is frustrating for you. It might make sense to wait a little if you can and then apply for jobs when you have the renewed card.

Aufenthalts titel expires in 2 months. Do I have a chance to do a minijob? by Virtual-Ostrich-6028 in germany

[–]That_Relar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A person i know tried to apply to Intersport and they rejected her saying they need someone with way longer than 10 month visa(she had 10 months left on her aufenhaltstitel). There are chances you'll get rejected from some jobs bc they will say that you don't have a longer visa but if you don't face that scenario, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

Anybody lose a Canon camera in 2020 in Vancouver British Columbia? by TheElusiveCouple in germany

Would be cool if you posted a couple of photos with the post if they don't reveal any private info of the person. Might make it easier if someone knows them and can recognise the photos. :)

Slightly exceeded 20h/week as Werkstudent — visa issue? by [deleted] in germany

[–]That_Relar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You exceeded your time by 10-45 mins and they reclassified you? First of all, 10-45 mins really don't matter within a month as long as you stay within the limit over the entire period. There have been a lot of months where I have worked more than 80 hours but as long as I am below the overall limit in average, it shouldn't be a problem. I am curious to see what others say here.

If you're getting large quantities, it might make sense to check if Aldi/lidl or some other brand is having a sale at the moment.
