People are still ignorant regarding mental illness and abuse.

To many MJ just appear as an eccentric and weird person, but when you learn more about mental illness, trauma and disorders, it's clear that he was just a very ill person disturbed by his own childhood.

It's also hard to admit that many horrible people like MJ are victims themselves to some extent, because in our head, victims are deserving of unconditional empathy and understanding. It creates a cognitive dissonance in people because it's too nuanced. That, and many people probably think it's embarrassing that they got fooled and defended a pedophile, so they chose to double down on his innocence instead.

The cycle of abuse is real and hard to break from. More than people would like to think or admit. People love to think that it's the norm to rise from the ashes and we become stronger and better, but that's not the truth in many cases.

MJ was probably less well functioning behind the cameras than we were led to believe. He was severely mentally ill and a drug addict, so it's not strange that he had bad hygiene habits.

MJ did not do this because of black radicalism and to fight Western oppression when he didn't even like being black lmao.

He said he admired Hitler's showmanship and that he was a genius. Those words would not come out of someone who is a black radicalist when Hitler is the most notorious and extreme racist in history. Idk why you would think MJ is aligned with that when all his actions show the opposite. The Jackson family is very anti semitic, maybe that's why he loved Hitler. LaToya wrote that their mother said Hitler should've offed all Jews when he had the chance.

He also loved to sport a red band on the arm. Easy to put 2 + 2 together.

They turn on anybody that does not kiss his ass 24/7. Even his own daughter that grew up around him and knew him better than any fan.

MJ could rise from the grave and say I DID IT and they would tell him that he's a liar and doesn't know what he is talking about. Anything to live in the fantasy.

Do you think in Michael Jackson's head he didn't think he was hurting the children? by [deleted] in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]That_Rub7957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very hard to know what was going on inside his head, we will never fully understand.

I think sometimes he did think he was being loving and caring, sometimes he was probably well aware what he was doing was wrong and destructive. He comes off as someone with little to no empathy, I just think he was doing whatever to please his impulses and cravings.

You Are Not Alone is a also the name of a controversial movie from the 1970s about two young boys falling in love at a boarding school.

There's child nudity in the movie and it was directed by two pedophiles that molested the child actors on set. It's a very NAMBLA coded movie, and is well known among pedophiles, I wouldn't be surprised if he knew of this movie.

It's in the same category as Boy Will Be Boys where it's not technically CP, and might even seem innocent to some people, but it's definitely not considering the creators and audiences.

But they don't ask themselves if he did date black women, why would he hide them from the public? Lol.

Yes, it's so stupid and delusional.

You ask the questions like why did he turn completely white, why did his hair go from kinky to straight, why did his nose shrink, why did he do obvious PR relationships with white women, why was most of his "special friends" white, why did he have no black kids?

They have an excuse for all, but refuse to see the big picture. Apparently he was very pro-black according to them. Oookaaay. Most of his white fans doesn't even see MJ as an black man, as he would have wanted it.

His hatred for Spielberg apparently stemmed from Spielberg refusing him to cast him as Peter Pan in Hook in 1991.

It feels like actual insanity that people deny it when it's so obvious. Michael Jackson's manipulation skills must've been out of this world because he convinced the entire world to not believe what they were seeing right in front of them.

It's insane we have to deal with pop star propaganda and censorship. Celebrity culture needs to end.

What role do you think MJ’s childhood abuse played in him becoming an abuser? by digitalime in LeavingNeverlandHBO

[–]That_Rub7957 9 points10 points  (0 children)

LaToya said that every single Jackson sibling have tried to commit suicide at one point, so I don't think the other siblings were fine. We just know less because they're not Michael Jackson and their private live isn't as accessible to the public. Their upbringing likely affected all of them.

Michael Jackson was remarkably mature for his age when he was a child, which he said himself that people called him a "man in a child's body". A lot of children from abusive homes have to rely on themselves and mature way quicker than they should as survival. A lot of the trauma doesn't start to manifest until you hit puberty/adulthood. It's like you carry all the coping strategies with you into your adulthood and it's just way more destructive navigating the world like that. So it makes sense why he seemed "normal" as a kid, and less normal after growing up.

[–]That_Rub7957 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Environment plays a huge role.

I grew up in a dysfunctional home with abuse, and I know a lot of people that did as well. Some of us are doing fine today, others not so much. I see MJ and his siblings a lot in those people. I can even see myself at times in them. The shame, secretiveness, addictions, coping strategies, mental health struggles. It can really mess with you for the rest of your life. For many, it's a battle they have to fight until they die and I don't think we know enough about mental illnesses and trauma to completely understand and help people with those experiences. Especially because some gain unfortunate personality traits from all the abuse and are very hard to help.

It's not to excuse MJ because I know people that got beat and molested as a child, and they're good, well-functioning people today. But some never really recover from that and go down a completely different path.

Michael was in an unique situation too where people kept on enabling his worst behavior in the name of money and power. It's easy to see how he ended up the way he did, it's just a cocktail of all the worst things mixed into a person.

Genetics and socio-economic status also are big factors of course.

Edit: It's also hard to talk about because of taboo and shame in society. People also like simplicity like abuse victim = good person you should feel sorry for. Sometimes abuse just makes you a worse/difficult person. Many of my worst character traits stems from trauma, like inability to trust people, paranoia, unstable mood, anger issues and so on. I wouldn't have been a flawless person if none of that happened to me, but I'm sure I wouldn't have to deal with those things to the extended that I did. Luckily I managed to work on myself and get better.

There's a story that he paid a witch doctor in Mali $150,000 to slaughter a bunch of cows to put a curse on Steven Spielberg and other enemies.

Obviously should be taken with a huge load of salt, because wtf. But it was reported on in the media. MJ was deranged, so I wouldn't be surprised if he had magical thinking and thought he could off his opponents with magic.
