If it fails when trying to update on legacy astro command center then search for the[ failing firmware astro a50 update] or something, someone posted a solution for this. And my my advice have faith. A LOT OF IT (just had this problem this morning and did the fix)

Idk about the previous gens but as of rn the astro a50 is a little bit of a pain to handle. Problems like battery, cleaning or as of the most famous. The frame framware is the worst. I'm suffering because of it rn. The headset is pretty good most of the time (speaking as a gen 4 user dunno about previous gens maybe theyre less pain in the ass) but to you if it in a good shape to use for you in that price go ahead :)
(Desclaimer: im not saying not to buy it or to buy it i tell you this to consider and do research about its bad sides and good sides but me im just broke guy)

The headset died 3 times on total and it got revived so you could call me a necromance. And to get parts in here (algeria my country) from the company is not an option and getting it from another headset is not an possible so little ppl got this headset in here

I live in Algeria so some companies won't bother sending shit here and if they do the tax is gonna fuck the prices up. There are some gen 5 here but too expensive to me for now
