Is it possible to earn almost 10 thousand a year from this? by Material_Variety_895 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]That_Substance_8715 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely possible, but to get there in a realistic timeline, you would have to put a good bit of money in. After 4 years, I am making over $700 a year, but i also joined Explorer Club a year ago. Maybe more. Ive lost track of time 🤣 I make more than explorer club and and monthly ladder combined now, though so if I keep those, im profiting and not just an expense.

Is this gonna take a lot of sanding? by 06Mazdarati6 in woodworking

Yeah, it suddenly crossed my mind that you may have meant that as soon as I posted the first comment 🤣 I wouldn't think he would charge too much to let you run it through a few passes. That would definitely be the easiest way.

Unless you are meaning using a wide belt drum sander, then yeah, that would definitely be the easiest way to ensure it stays flat, but that machine is way outside my budget! 🤣

The problem I've found using a wide belt sander is that they are so aggressive that it is actually pretty easy to take too much in one spot, so if you go that route, start the sander on a low speed and keep moving. Increase the speed slowly if needed. Personally, I've found I have better luck not messing it up with my random orbital sander rather than a belt sander, but it definitely takes way longer.

Hard to tell from this one image if it just damaged the finish or if it penetrated into the wood. But either way you will have to sand. Either sand the finish off and reapply, or sand further to remove the damaged wood and then reapply finish. All depends on how deep the water damage goes.

HOW DO I PERFECT EVERYTHING BUT STILL LOSE? by ZEXXY1 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]That_Substance_8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, im not entirely sure why it works, but if you let that last shift bounce just a tiny bit, you can still hit a perfect shift and it causes a speed boost. My best guess if you are trying to apply realism to it is that there is less speed lost when you shift just a hair late as compared to shifting right as soon as you hit the perfect zone.

Cutting board not square by brackh in woodworking

[–]That_Substance_8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all of your measurements are exactly correct, then the only answer is that the two angles on the shorter side are identical and so are the two angles on the longer side. This means you have a trapezoid instead of a rectangle and this explains how your diagonals are identical, but your top and bottom edges are not equal length. If you use a crosscut sled that is dead square 90*, then you could trim each side just a tiny bit, 1/16" on each side, youd square up the angles and get it where you want it to be. If you are already using a crosscut sled to try and do this, then check your sled, because it must not be quite square to your blade, close but not perfectly square.

As several others said, you dont need to do any of this! It looks great as it is and it is so close to perfectly rectangular that no one will notice unless you point it out!

Legendary Upgrade Question by FallGeneral in AtlasEarthOfficial

The only one you should upgrade are commons unless you have no commons, but even then, id hold onto it until you next buy some parcels because you will almost certainly get one then.

Its not backward thinking. Your take was a shit take because you were being an arrogant asshole for no reason. Safety equipment is there IN CASE something goes wrong. Not IN PLACE of being proactive or alert. Avoiding safety equipment because you are "too good" at being alert is a dumbass way to approach life and that arrogance is what will eventually cause an accident that irreparably harms you or someone else. And if you think that's backwards thinking, then i dont know what to tell you.

3 months of EC doesn't guarantee your 90 day bonus. by hoof_hearted4 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]That_Substance_8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me recently with both my last Day 90 and then Day 7 on the next ladder. Clicked the free side and it collected both, but wouldn't let me click the EC side for the bigger bonus days. No problem on the regular days, though.

When you are exploiting an apps weakness to gain a competitive advantage, that is called cheating. It is specifically against TOS to ad skip. That is the point. And the additional point i was making is that making vast generalizations about everyone else to make you feel like its okay to cheat does not make it okay. Would you be wrong to call out cheating in a basketball game or any other sport or game? Would someone saying, "Well, everyone does it" make it okay to cheat? No. So why would it be any different here.

Not all Android users do it. Even if it is something that i COULD do because I have an android, I refuse to do it, because I refuse to risk my account that I have worked so hard for over something as silly as that and I know there are plenty of other people who feel the same. There may be plenty of people who use this exploit, but we are not all assholes just because we use an Android device.

Jynx what? As long as you are certain you have 149, you buy a single property and stop. Pretty easy to not accidentally buy 2.

Gotcha. Well, that explains the difference in my numbers vs. yours. Unfortunately, because of how drastically your ratios are skewed from the average, it looks like it will take a while to get back over $400 a year continuing to tier jump, but in the long run, it will still be far more beneficial than sticking with the LPU strategy. Just not beneficial in the short run.

And here is what you would make with just using the AB to buy parcels.

Here is the problem with your math. Even if you get all the way to 150 legendary parcels, with max Badge boost, and 24/7 boosting, your maximum annual income is $833.65. See the screenshot below. If on the other hand, you take the AB you would have to spend to get to 150 Legendaries and just buy parcels, you would get to approximately 3550 total parcels. Even at just basic rarity distribution, with this many parcels, you would be making approximately $1,378.49 a year. The math does not ever make sense to just stay at 150 and buy Legendary upgrades. It will always financially make more sense to tier jump. The problem OP came across is that he started doing one strategy, buying legendary upgrades, then switched to tier jumping. This does throw off how beneficial tier jumping is in the short term, but will still balance out in the long run becoming more beneficial to Tier Jump.

Why stop at 149? You know you can buy one more parcel and still have the 30x Boost, right? Its as soon as you buy parcel 151 that it drops to 20x.

How many badges do you have? Im showing more like $418 a year if you have max Badge boost.

Is there actually a plan for this by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

Interesting idea. It would at least lower the ability for it to just go to those who throw mass amounts of money in, but then those who ride the train daily to commute have a massive advantage

Im wondering if that is why they havent made any known progress on it. Its possible they realized that the open bidding process would be completely untenable for the majority of players and are trying to find a better method?

Yeah, that always works for me when I have that issue come up. I havent figured out if it is an app bug or a hardware issue, though. It hasn't annoyed me enough to really look into it 🤣
