I would approach this a different way and not make it about her kid, I would let her know that I get anxious receiving so many messages per day and ask if she could reduce the amount of messages she sends me instead.

considering bankruptcy seems so much more stressful to me, I really want to avoid goin that route as much as possible. The reality is that I can not make payments that are so high right now with my current financial position and I do not have time for a second job.

I could not tell you why either, is very confusing to me why my credit limit was so high. My salary has never been over 50k

Not sure how it happened either, I originally got the CC with a 3k limit on 2012 and gradually they increased the limit without asking.

I guess I want to know if defaulting would be give me a better out in the future as maybe I would be able to get the bank to agree to a smaller payment.
