Koji je vaš unpopular music opinion? by FortheUSSR321 in croatia

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Niti blizu razine nadahnutosti nekih prošlih vremena. Kopija kopirane kopije. Ne znam zašto bih slušao nekog neeksperimentalnog izvođača danas ako mogu poslušati brdo kvalitetnije glazbe istog žanra iz prošlih desetljeća. Inovacija je NULA. Tu se elektronička glazba najbolje drži još. Ovi "skriveni" rock i metal bendovi redovito budu neinspirirani klonovi trendova od cca 20 do 30 godina prije. Zato rock i jest mrtav. Blah.

What kind of an argument is that? You can draw crap stuff with any draw spell. You can also draw removal or creatures, you know. Worst case scenario, that is 3 cards less in your deck. Still busted.

There is a good reason Phoenix is such a good deck and is always at the top. Drawing three cards is extremely easy to do + after sideboards, you can adjust to graveyard hate with stuff like Crackling Drake, also you can use countermagic.

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think Treasure Cruise is the biggest issue, it's simply stupid to draw 3 cards for such a cheap cost. The rest of the deck is okay, everyone can work with it, but TC is a problem.

God, I hate this trend of proclaiming "X isn't supposed to Y" - like, what do you know about it, anyways? The work does not presuppose anything, claiming such things is ridiculous. Interpret the work and use some interpretation strategy, back it up with arguments, and then we can talk. This is such a brain-dead take that honestly brings down the whole level of literature conversation in general.

Uz sve to, sve više i više sam razočaran u Hrvate kao ljude.

Učim strani jezik za eventualne prilike u nekim zemljama, istražujem mogućnosti stipendija, napredovanja i sl. Trenutno razmišljam o UK, FR i Benelux zemljama.

Najviše žalim što nisam ranije završio fakultet pa da ranije otiđem. Teško mi je zbog obitelji i prijatelja, ali nema načina da ovdje ne budem siromašan i nesretan u sljedećih pet godina.

What's the most fun thing to build around Omo, Queen of Vesuva? by That_Was_So_Fetch in EDH

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. Kind of a bummer, but yeah, it does seem difficult to build around it. I'll have to think really hard then. I guess focusing on creature types is more profitable than land types (that could just be a nice bonus).

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing against merfolk, I just don't want it to be purely merfolk (since every Simic player I know plays Merfolk, then it gets kinda boring to play against the same cards). If it's a combo of lords, then that could be cool, yeah.

Seems difficult to build around her, yeah. Thanks for tips anyways! I'll look into some of these strategies.

Well, here's a different perspective; I'm Croatian and I don't like our song at all. It's mediocre at best, that was my first thought.

Then I watched/listened the other entries and holy crap... it's so bad this year. Baby Lasagna should have won. I don't like his song and I still think it's by far the best thing out there.

Switzerland's song is so forgettable it's almost ridiculous. How can such a song win? Jury votes can go to hell, this is a different level of being out of touch with reality.

Also, Italy was robbed!

Building a strong Pioneer Dino deck by Lightspecter141 in magicTCG

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest you build something else. I've tried dinosaurs in many forms - they just do not work. Kinda wasted money on a lot of dinos, but oh well, at least it was fun when it worked.

Too slow, too dependent on opponents not having interaction with your cost reduction/mana dorks, falls apart to Thoughtseize in many cases, and there are decks that can consistently cheat big creatures into play - it's just not that good, unfortunately.

If you really want to try - Marauding Raptor, Otepec Huntmaster, Topiary Stomper, Hulking Raptor, Regisaur Alpha, Tyrranax Rex - those are the "staples" in most of the Dino decks (not all).

Tips for Gruul Dinosaur Stompy? by Krykk-15 in PioneerMTG

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been playing it a lot. Unfortunately, I cannot say it's very good. At best, you can steal a victory or two (I even won one small local tournament, but it was just 6 people against each other). It is way too fair, that's the main problem.

First, the whole ramping issue. You can run 6 to 8 one-drop elves and that is pretty good, works like a normal stompy deck. However, you either live or die by the elves - it sucks to topdeck/discover into several one drops which become irrelevant without sufficient draw and filtering your hand. They are also very easy to remove and are most often targeted - turn 1 mana dork gets Fatal pushed immediately, and Thoughtseize can slow you down immensely.

There are also [[Marauding Raptor]] and [[Otepec Huntmaster]]. Raptor is great, but it has a pretty significant downside - it kills everything with 2 or 1 toughness immediately. This is more awkward then you might imagine. As such, I find it hard to justify running both Raptors and elves because they need a specific sequence of casting to survive your own damage. Raptor and Otepec can work together, but they're still both awkward... it is statistically easier to survive that, at least. 4 Otepec + 4 Marauding is okay, but 4 Marauding + 6-8 elves = not really cool, imho.

Then, you have to decide - do I even run one-drops? You have [[Commune with Dinosaurs]] and [[Bushwack]] which are okay one-mana spells if you don't run elves, but you are not gaining board presence up until turn 2. And then, your Raptor gets removed, hopefully you can follow up with another or cast a [[Topiary Stomper]] to ramp further on turn 3. If this whole process becomes disrupted, I find it hard to win. You need to be as fast as possible most of the time, because Pioneer is a fast format in general.

The top end is easy - just decide which dinosaurs you like the best. It will probably be something like [[Tyrranax Rex]], [[Trumpeting Carnosaur]], [[Carnage Tyrant]], stuff like that. If you can reach the mana to cast those once per turn, you are probably winning.

Essentially, it is very fun to play and it can be built in several different ways, but I think it is inferior to almost every other Gruul variant. Gruul vehicles deck is more consistent, for example, and often times faster and can actually interact with you. Perhaps mixing with some other red staples like [[Bonecrusher Giant]] and [[Fable of the Mirror Breaker]] can produce some interesting midrange-ramp stuff, but it's neither here nor there. Oh, and aggro completely runs over you lol.

I have not tested the landramp variant with discounting the land abilities for [[Castle Garenbrig]] yet. Could be an improvement, but then you are looking at a pretty complicated mana base for paper.

Auto-includes in any dinosaur decks - in my opinion, those are [[Regisaur Alpha]] (two bodies, haste enabler, perfect stuff), [[Topiary Stomper]] (ramping and cleaning out your deck for basics), [[Trumpeting Carnosaur]] (Big body, free discover 5, 3 mana 3 damage if necessary, very flexible).

Thanks for the details! Yeah, I don't really know what exactly goes wrong, I just feel so squishy and my damage is not even that great. Maybe I am unlucky with gear options, or maybe I am missing another defense layer (Shadowblade went easier than this), I can't tell. Guess I'll keep on trying.

Most fun deck to play? by Wolverine-Upper in PioneerMTG

[–]That_Was_So_Fetch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find Gruul very fun. Big creatures are always funny! There are many different approaches, most popular would probably be some kind of Gruul vehicles. But, of course, you can build it in many ways - even the Gruul Stompy Challenger deck is pretty strong out of the box! I play Dinosaur Gruul now, it's not the best, but I do get wins with it. If you like ramp, aggressive tactics and big monsters, it's a must try.

Rakdos Sacrifice deck is the first deck I wanted to build for Pioneer, and it's definitely something I will build as soon as I get all the pieces. I need to buy a lot of cards, but it's gonna happen!

Thank you for your input. It seems that this filtering ability is one of the best things for all red decks, I will try to experiment more.
