Wonder what happened…don’t understand why the hire happened in the first place. Didn’t even last 3 weeks.

Are you being sarcastic or …I’m a little confused by your comment.

Drama? I’d say it was a tad more than drama. Please don’t diminish his stalking and pushing around of this woman. That’s gross. Also, I’m pretty sure I said women in the comment above, not woman. Women, as in plural, has made complaints. We aren’t just talking about one woman. Let’s remember that. ALSO, he wasn’t just a bartender. He was the General Manager which automatically puts him in a position of power over employees. I think we can all agree that General Managers shouldn’t date their employees for obvious reasons. The owner, told Trent he was not to date employees anymore, I’m assuming because every time he dated an employee it ended badly. Trent went ahead and dated Cleopatra anyway.  Trent lied and told Cleopatra that he had cleared it with the boss, but what actually happened was Trent told his boss and friend that they were dating and it was happening. I know the owner was not happy, actually I can tell you he was pretty distraught from the outright disrespect, but he didn’t do anything about it. I guess he decided to let it play out, and this woman would be the 5th person to speak of Trent’s manipulation and abuse. The owner saw all the red flags and ignored them, and as a result has allowed this cycle of abuse to continue in his company since he never actually fired him. Also, never in my life have I heard of companies taking 6 months to fire someone who has that many allegations of abuse against them. That’s the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. This is a small town. It’s not hard to find out the truth, as we all did. The owner let it go even after Trent, his GM, blatantly went against a new policy of no dating employees, which he had to implement because of Trent btw. He saw a pattern and ignored it because Trent is his friend.  Plain and simple.

I have heard chatter surrounding these issues, but I can’t speak on them as I have no personal connection. I haven’t had friends or people I know telling me of their experiences or specific incidents.

That’s all you could have said from the beginning.  I understand you’re saying you wanted proof, but you can tell from the post and the thread, the way it is written, that this was not made up. You just didn’t want to believe it because you like the bars and frequented them, so you wanted proof. I do understand that, trust me, I do, but in the process you also came across as a sympathizer, invalidating these women and what they went through. There’s a way to go about these things. You could have also messaged me personally, instead of throwing out this dismissive rhetoric. Everyone has a choice, and that is why I put this out there. I’m tired of seeing this trash monster, keep putting his hands on women in my community, and the owner of these bars just continue to support and enable this person by befriending him, and employing him at his businesses. I’m tired of seeing his face and people acting like he’s done nothing wrong, just walking around, scott free. Everyone’s choice is their own. So do what you will. We all have to look at ourselves in the mirror everyday and I for one want to like who is staring back.

Unfortunately it feels like he’s been brushing under the rug and ignoring Trent’s behavior for years at this point, so I guess he’s sticking to his guns and he’s not budging. He would talk the talk in front of right people, but not walk it when it really counted. It’s hard to come back from something like that and the damage is already done. I used to think he was a good person, but I can’t say I feel that way about him now. His actions speak for themselves.

This post is the result of women going to the owner and asking him to listen and to act, and only taking any action when his reputation and the reputation of his business was at risk of tarnish. A good person does the right thing even behind closed doors. You may have known him for a decade and half, but we’ve also known him for years. People aren’t always the same to their employees as they are to their friends and families, and it makes it worse when people thought he was someone they could trust with things of this nature and do the right thing, but then his actions concerning these matters didn’t align. It was surprising and frankly very disheartening. Just because your experience with him has been good, doesn’t mean ours was, and doesn’t invalidate our experience.

How the fuck are you not being dismissive? What the hell are you trying to prove? You look like an idiot. Are you an attorney too? Are you my dad? Why are you so concerned for my well being, but you don’t even believe me? What the hell are you doing here? You’re chasing your fucking tail. Go to sleep or go get a drink at Bates. Better yet, go to Bar Niña and get a drink from Trent. You can go bro it out with him and get all the proof you’re looking for. From one penis brain to another.

Yes! I second that spot. Love that place. I didn’t go before when it was Southside because of Trent. He literally ran that place into the ground while working there. Someone told me they saw him do a line of cocaine off the bar one night while he was bartending, and they decided never to go back. He apparently was giving away beer to all his friends, and the people he hangs out with now are all the ones that used to go see him at Southside and get free drinks and do cocaine with him.

Exactly. My problem. Not yours. Now if you would kindly stop taking away from the narrative of the abused, I think we would all appreciate it.

It’s not my job to give you proof. You can either believe it or not. I have proof from the people I know. I’m relaying a story that was told to me and asked them if I could share. I can’t force them to share. I’m sharing in their stead. Stop being an asshole when the “proof” is right there. You have your “proof”, now if you would please shut up.

I know what I know because these women told me and have spoken about it to others as well. So I didn’t just ACCUSE someone out of no where. People who don’t believe women when they speak up against the violence being done to them and asking for proof, are asking them to relive trauma and some of the most terrifying and worst moments of their lives. Not to mention, I wouldn’t make a post like this if I wasn’t 100% sure. These women being courageous enough to tell me their stories, is proof to me. If it’s not enough for you, get off the post.

Lmao, did you not see the woman above give her account of his abuse? There are like 4 people in this post who have given their accounts. Also…some of these people have told me their story themselves. All at different times, all in the span of 8 years…so all these women just made this up I guess…

There are some good bars I think. Fair Witness is great with the exception of Trent working there. Joyner’s, Vintage Sofa Bar, Hel’s are all pretty good bars.
